Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students
and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Hello, my name is Meagan D., and I recently moved to the Washington, DC area from Michigan. I attended Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. I got my Bachelor's of Science Degree, and a Michigan's Provisional Teacher's Certificate. My major was Mathematics Teaching and Elementary Education. I have taught students from 2 years old to college students. I am certified to teach Kindergarten through 5th grade all subjects, 6th through 8th grade math, or Kindergarten through 8th grade all subjects self contained. I teacher assisted in Michigan with 5th grade, and started working at their after school program with 5th and 6th grade. I student taught Kindergarten in Michigan. I taught 5th grade in Tanzania, and student taught 4th grade in Mexico. This past year, I taught 4th grade math, reading, language arts, science, and religion.

This system is a very effective tool in the formation of math concepts as it has methodologies for enrichment and remediation, in addition to specific materials that support diversity in the way in which students learn.

I took Spanish classes with Marta. She didn't show up for the 5th lesson and after my polite inquiry she sent an email suggesting I should look for a different teacher and cancelled the remaining lesson. This was a very disappointing turn of events for me after having had 4 good lessons with her. While I understand that life can get in the way and priorities can shift, I would at least have expected an explanation.

Learn Mathematics of all levels in practical and instinctive ways. So many filters have been stacked on top of the direct understanding of Math that it's no wonder everyone feels overwhelmed.

This course is to be used as a miscellaneous course for Mathematics for students who are unsure of their current standing in the subject. Analysis will be used in sessions to identify the students Math Skills and place them in the correct course in the list.

My teaching strategy includes personal experience understandings of a particular problem that lead students astray. My observations lead me to introduce a direct road for your specific learning style.
In short, I use countless different perspectives to show a certain mathematical concept until it naturally clicks.

With eight years experience at Valencia College and 2 years at University of Central Florida I have experienced a wide variety of students between the ages 7 to 60 years. This experience has enabled me to customize lessons in one to one sessions with each unique student and their unique needs.

My teaching methodologies include plenty of visual aids, simile's, and clear communication with a strong emphasis on Socratic questioning to stimulate critical thought in solving the giant puzzle that is Mathematics.

I am a math instructor, teaching small classes as well as individual lessons. I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Puget Sound in 2016 and am open to all ages and all levels. I would cater lessons to the student's specific goals and strive to help them better understand difficult concepts as well as build a solid foundation for higher level math.

About Jenna
I am a performer, teacher, and student. While working towards a Masters in Performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Burt Hara at Cal State Fullerton, I have subbed with local orchestras as well as participated in recording projects in Orange County. At the University, I perform with the wind symphony, orchestra, and new music ensemble.

When I was a child, my uncle, a doctor for the CDC in Atlanta, was visiting for Christmas. I only saw him once a year, and this year he gave me a pink plastic recorder. After becoming immediately obsessed with the small instrument, I begged my parents for lessons. “Lessons on the recorder?” they laughed. Every Christmas, my uncle would bring a duet book, and we would play duets on recorder. Finally, in third grade, my parents started me on piano and the next year, I began private lessons on
clarinet.

I found my passion for playing at a young age. I believe that although it is important to build good technique, practice habits, and musicality, it is also important to keep the passion and joy that playing music can bring us. As I grow as a person and a musician, I always try to remember what brought me to music in the first place: playing and enjoying music with my friends and peers.

Aside from performance, I discovered my passion for teaching as I started working with students in private lessons and working as a camp counselor at a woodwind camp. I was invited to sub with the Auburn Symphony and was excited to perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 2 beside my mentor and friend, Jennifer Nelson. Today, I am indebted to the inspiration my uncle gave me as a child and all my teachers for my opportunity to pursue a Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance at Cal State Fullerton.

During high school, I was given the title "Teacher Brie" because of the energetic and cheesy way I taught the information.

Much of my tutoring experience stems from helping my classmates understand information. When taking AP Calculus, my teacher left for half the year on maternity leave. With the lack of an actual math substitute teacher, I essentially taught the class and lead myself, and my classmates, to all A's and B's.

After graduating, I began officially tutoring younger students in pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus and calculus. I am currently working with a high school student on Algebra 2 and an elementary school student.

I believe the most important principle in learning anything, especially mathematics, is having a solid foundation and strong understanding of underlying concepts. I feel it's important to not only show useful tips and tricks to figuring problems out, but also to teach why exactly those tricks work and how to apply them to other problems. I've been teaching arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus to students from 3rd grade to college levels for a year now. I always look forward to not only teaching the student, but also learning from the experience myself.

I'm a physics major and am aspiring to become an educator. I spend my free time programming physics simulations and working on math puzzles. I've been tutoring various subjects including math, physics, and chemistry for the past year.

I believe that the most important principle in learning anything is a strong understanding of the concepts and tools used to solve problems within the field. Since these are cumulative subjects, a concrete foundation allows students to truly prosper and apply their skills to any topics they encounter.
Math is one of my strongest passions and I am always eager to share it with others.

As member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, I'm expected to maintain high academic performance. This motivated me to hold my grades well above the criteria required to be on the President's Honor List.

Blake helped me with physics concepts, preparing me for my final. We went over thermodynamics, light, and had an intro to quantum mechanics. He is patient towards his students and is very knowledgeable in the math/physic subjects. He helped me on writing formal lab reports as well. Would recommend
