This is my fifth lesson with Jose. In that time he showed me how to read, write drum notation/score, play fills, and tightened up my overall playing. I am very pleased with my sound and I can't wait to learn more.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop both academically and professionally for about 7 years now. I use it primarily to edit and create architectural renderings, edit photos that I have taken, as well as any graphics that I have created. I currently use CS5.5 at home and CS6 at work. I have reference images available. I believe the entire Adobe Suite works best when intertwined with both Illustrator and InDesign as the programs are very similar to one another.

About Steven

I'm a recent graduate of the Boston Architectural College, and employed by a large architectural firm in Boston. I am currently teaching a Rhino 3-D course at the BAC I tutor in all aspects of architecture including portfolio design, writing, software tutoring, design critiquing, and overall academic guidance. For software, I specialize in the Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros, and V-Ray. I've tutored students of all differing ages and skill sets, ranging from novice to advanced user. Further, I have numerous references and reviews about my services that I would be happy to pass along, as well as past design work that I have done both academically and professionally. Lastly, I have numerous resources students can use after tutoring sessions are complete such as reference manuals, tutorials, and websites to visit for additional learn

I tailor my Adobe Photoshop lessons to meet the precise needs of my students. Make a flyer, edit a photo, create a business card or sign, make a photo album, create a promotional ad, touch up modeling images.
Or just learn the basics of the program.

About Holly

I am a graphic designer, photographer, and front-end web developer living in Brooklyn, NY.

I first discovered I love teaching others in High School. I took an independent study of Photography my senior year and basically spent the whole time aiding the other students with their projects.

In college, I noticed I was very ahead of most the other photography students in terms of understanding the different printing processes and techniques. I was always lending a hand with the projects when it was crunch time. A few kids even asked to reserve my time so that they could have me on stand-by during their shoot.

Now I have moved on to working for different design agencies and freelancing. I started doing web design last year and I love showing others how fun it can be to create a website once you get the hang of it!

I myself am an

avid learner which is probably why I love teaching!

Holly was awesome! She helped me get right into PS at the quick pace I wanted and she was great at answering all my questions. She also sent me lots of extra resources to help and even some homework so I could practice! I plan to do more lessons with her soon, highly recommended!!

Holly worked editing photos for my company to aid in advertising and Web publishing. I can only say that her work was impeccable. Every photo that she touched came back to us ready to go in formats that we could use directly or pass on to clients as part of an advertising portfolio. I only wish that she had stayed in Connecticut so her talent could further benefit my business.

Holly is patient supportive and knowledgeable with a good perspective on the subject matter and she is also prompt and offers constructive criticism that made my old ways seem more impactical than foolish.

Beginning students can expect to begin the amazing journey of Photoshop by learning the basic tools and techniques used, including selecting, filters, editing images, and composition. Intermediate and advanced students can expect to learn about composition, layout, layer adjustment tools, advanced editing abilities, and other very cool tools.

Students will be asked what their ultimate goals are and curriculum will be developed and catered to help them reach their goals in five or six sessions (depending on complexity of goals).

About Mika

I am a professor with seventeen years worth of experience in teaching various subjects for a multitude of students. I've taught subjects such as creative writing, commercial law, ancient civilization, ancient and transitional Latin and Greek, as well as Graphic Design, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Federal and Commercial Building Compliance and Law, et cetera. To put it bluntly, there's very little I cannot teach.

I've taught GED classes and courses for the State of Michigan and the Northeast Penitentiary system for seven years as well, which has been some of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had.

I believe that everyone can learn. All it takes is that student to professor connection and knowing what type of learner the student is. I don't believe in a "one shoe fits all" type of teaching style.

My students are unique, with different ways of looking at problems and different ways of coming to their own conclusions and solutions.

Good teaching is a mixture of art and science—the ability to grab and keep students' attention and convey complex information, Mr. K does just that!! I have taken about 4 or 5 classes with him and I must say he has taught me everything I need now in my career. Patient and vastly knowledge. Definitely would take another class with him!

Mr. K taught was amazing. He taught the GED in Michigan a few years ago. The moment I walked into his classroom, it was just one and one. He didn't treat me like all the other teachers. He actually cared and it showed. But man, is he hard! I didn't think I would get homework after the first class, but I was seriously wrong. But over the next two months, he grilled me and grilled me until I wanted to scream. But when I took the GED and was scored, I aced it! Just to warn yall though, he's not an easy teacher. And he doesn't put up with excuses. But when he gives you his attention, its all of it.

He even went waaaay beyond the call of duty and helped me get into college at Lansing Community College. He walked me through the application, even drove and met me at LCC, and sat with me when we talked to the reps. He even helped me look for scholarships and gave me advise on financial aid! This guy is a saint!

In this Adobe Photoshop course you will learn all the basics with photoshop. I will guide you with extreme detail on each step so that everything is interpreted very clearly. You can also learn anything you would want to know from asking me and I can show you. However, we will start with the basic course first if you are a beginner. If you are more advanced or intermediate, I will teach more advanced skills and techniques that you do not know within this program. So do not worry, there is so so much to learn in Adobe Photoshop, and it’s extremely fun!

About Devin

I am 15, but I am an extremely good communicator and I am very social and outgoing no matter what. I will always have a positive attitude with anyone and always use positive reinforcement. I am very enjoyable and funny but at the same time go into extreme detail when teaching photoshop because of how much knowledge of it I have, and because how much I love it.

"Jessica is very well versed in the Photoshop program.."

"I came to these lessons with minimal Adobe experience. In fact, I've always gone to great lengths to avoid using Adobe, because I find it overly challengi
ng. I like simple! Yet I also saw a growing need to get Photoshop under my belt for my various websites and business graphics.

Etana took a guy who didn't even know how to work with layers, and after a few hours of training together I was whipping out some very sharp looking graphics & images for our website. She assessed my needs and patiently walked me through the basics of what I'd foreseeably use on the projects I normally work on.

I now feel much more confident to tackle the Adobe beast. Etana is a skilled instructor. If I ever have a need for additional instruction or help with a design project I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again. I highly recommend this very capable instructor! Thank you for helping me Etana. :-)"

"I am a working professional in the visual communications field. I work primarily as a graphic designer and through my experience in working with other gra
phic designers; I have realized the lack of hands on, real world practical knowledge in the graphic design field.

Professor M., and my friend Gilbert, have been really instrumental in my progress/development as an artist and designer. I credit much of my success to the classes I have taken with him. Why? I will explain...as I've stated before I've worked with other graphic artists, and I have been able to spin circles around them, cutting production time in half. Why? Professor Gilbert taught me how to use the design programs for production as well as for concept development. Many graphic designers learn the books but they don't learn how to use something as simple as key board shortcuts when designing. I will equate this lack of knowledge of not knowing how to use the programs to Rembrandt not knowing how to use a brush. Professor Gilbert taught me how to use the programs for the real world, for a job, and not just from a book. I admit when I took his classes I was really intimidated half way through the class because he expects you to learn the programs, but also how to design for a particular client, whether it is more clean looking design or a more deconstructive design.

I would really recommend Professor Gilbert if you are looking for practical knowledge that can be applied on the field right now, not skills that you'll never use. He will teach you how to resolve technical and visual problems that will help you bridge the gaps in your weaknesses and make you a better artist, and professional.

Thanks Gil."
