Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

I have experience with data management tools as Excel through my PhD research in Education, using statistical methods and data collection strategies. I also have a professional background managing databases and expense inventories at a public/academic library in the State Florida and a recycling center in Germany, where I also completed a certificate program in MS office software, inventory management, and sales strategies.
Excel is a spreadsheet and data management software program of crucial, pivotal importance in any business, financial, and research environment. The program enables efficient and prompt development of arithmetic and statistical calculations of vast data sets. It also helps to visualize and juxtapose related or even discrepant variables.
My approach to teaching the program is cumulative and holistic, starting ...

My style and attitude toward teaching is a balance between subject delivery and reflective, supportive interaction. I seek to enable current research on education for busy, yet goal-driven student interests. This is done through customized online lessons coordinating the experience with optimal resources and tools: ESL and Speech students learn to monitor their own phonological issues with dedicated software/feedback, guiding German students through conversational dialogues, and ensuring relevant resources for Excel and related productivity lessons.
Due to my limited funds
, I do not have direct experience with the Adobe suite, but I have extensive knowledge of related, free distributions that are transferable. Possibly the only PhD on Takelessons server from a regionally accredited university, I am a member of the American Council on Foreign Language Learning and the Association for Language Learning. My most popular subjects are as follows:
North American English Pronunciation Practice for ESL (NAEPP-ESL) or Accent-Reduction: *****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 recordings, and about 50 GB onedrive folder for lesson files*****
Carefully following Burkkowsky's (1969) multi-media method, I have taught this subject for over five years for public and private causes, such as library, individuals, and language schools. Dr. G has been able to identify and target very specific problems in my speech. His method is very effective. He is an excellent teacher!

Among the accent reduction teachers that I had before, Erol is the only one who actually could find the problems in my accent! The program he uses is very useful. The way he explains things or exaggerates the mistakes will help me to correct my accent. Overall, an awesome experience and I would totally recommend him to anyone.
I work with computers (Windows / Mac) for almost 20 years. Expert in office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote).
Started early to use Excel for business and created sheets for an executive of a big German Company when I was 19.
I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching. I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids. Have a great day, Marcel
Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.
I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.

I went to The University of Wisconsin and earned a degree in Computer Science in 2017. My teaching style is patient, thorough and detail oriented. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
Hi! I'm a tutor specialized in formulas and navigation in Excel. If you're currently taking an Excel course, I can guide you through that as well.
I'll explain in plain English, how to use formulas as vlookup, how to build pivot tables, how to analyze data, and how to make spreadsheets look relatively readable.
Hi! I'm a statistics/Excel tutor with experience in AP, undergrad, MBA, and calc-based statistics. I know statistics can be unintuitive, and I'll work with you to reach your goals. I'll explain concepts and questions in coursework using relevant examples and plain English.
I'm available for long term tutoring as well as immediate assistance. I'm also used to teaching/drawing diagrams on online platforms, and can guide you through the process.
I’m a graduate from Cornell University and a former Accenture statistical analytics consultant. I received my Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Operations Research.
While at Accenture, I’ve taught clients introductory statistics to give them the tools to understand business data. I enjoy teaching Math, Statistics, and general digital marketing/statistics. I also have experien
ce in statistical data mining and script programming using R.
I’m passionate about making sure my students are equipped with a deeper understanding of seemingly difficult topics. I like using a combination of visuals and situations relatable to a students’ interests. In my experience, abstract topics like Statistics tend to be easier to understand when people visualize a concept on paper or online.
In my spare time, I follow the NBA and NFL. I’m also a semi-professional hip hop dancer.
I can teach you Excel skills from beginner to advanced, by my curriculum or according to your specific needs.
I've developed Excel skills that work in my personal life (financial, budgeting, accounting, car buying, home buying, etc.) and in my professional life (functions and formulas, pivot tables, charts and graphs, VBA macros and more!).
I've wowed employers and made teams more effective.
I have a teaching degree and am gifted at bringing concepts to life for my students.
I teach like how I'd like to be taught: I move at my students' pace, make concepts easy to understand, make learning fun, build confidence and help create a sense of personal satisfaction at mastering exactly what you need to master.
I'm considered an Excel guru because I love Excel and I love to learn and grow. I have many years' experience teaching and training people of all ages and I can't wait to help you!
Barry has a an in-depth knowledge of Excel. He is very detailed, he makes learning fun, easy to follow and understand. He provides examples and visual effects. Barry is an excellent teacher!

Barry was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his Excel lesson and showed us many helpful ways to use Excel so that it can benefit me in and outside of work. He provided many examples and gave us each an opportunity to follow along with him during his lesson.
I can not live without Excel! Excel is a miracle! If you learn it, you will see that can use it in a vast variety of your needs.
Teaching is my inner passionate. I have studied mechanical engineering and I mostly work in my field. But I love teach things that I know to the others. I believe it keeps me fresh and gives me a good sense.
"This was my first lesson and I will be back.I am an older learner and too old to have learned computers in school since typewriters were the in thing. So
as a middle aged professional everything I know has been self taught. Jason showed me things I never knew existed.I told him "I feel like a kid again".He is patient and allows for you to ask questions. If you were intimidated or scared to get started...he is the right tutor.I highly recommend Jason."
"Matthew was a great instructor for Intermediate level Excel training. He was able to help me with navigational tips and shortcuts, formulas and totals be
tween sheets within one spreadsheet, as well as understanding Vlookup functionality. I highly recommend Matthew if you are in need of Excel training."
"Alex was friendly and well organized. To make sure I got what he showed me, I too needed to do a couple exercises. That was good. For a first lesson, with
my prior knowledge uncertain, the session went pretty well. Also liked his ability to 'tailor' the excel functions to things of my concern."
"Stellar Instructor --- Very knowledgeable and able to provide clear instructions. Makes learning an ease!"
"Great work Stays on message, Easy going. Fun to learn with. A pro"
"Great tutor and very knowledgeable about the subject. He was very easy to understand."
"Really informative. Very patient and helpful."
"Erol was helpful and knowledgable on the concepts I needed to learn. I wanted to start classes earlier than he had for availability but he made it work an
d did 3 consecutive days like I wanted. There wasn't a rush on time and he was very flexible in order to make sure I understood the base concepts I needed, which were a few skills related to marketing reporting. Thanks Erol!"
"Joanne is a life saver! Her Excel skills are among the best I've found on this site. She is very detailed, but mainly she was able to see the BIG picture
