After studying singing off and on for more than 30 years, i won't be surprised if anyone calls him the best singing teacher in Los Angeles. He has the best sets of vocal exercise which can relax your voice, build your resonance, and help you hit your notes accurately in your range. Very very happy to have him teaching me.

Jan is a fun and dynamic instructor whose patience and attention to the needs of her students has been instrumental in helping my daughter enjoy and thrive in her voice and piano lessons. While some instructors, in our experience, have been excellent musicians but poor teachers, Jan's style and flexibility make her an ideal person for passing on her knowledge to students, so that they in turn develop their own musical talents and shine. Many thanks, Jan, for your gifts!

Learn to sing with ease and be audition ready and confident!

About Carol
I have taught voice for over twenty years. I studied music at University of California, Santa Barbara, where I received my B.A. I currently work as a professional singer for various local opera companies, music theater groups, churches and temples. I am principal soprano for Opera A La Carte and have also soloed with Repertory Opera Company, Redlands Bowl Festival, Laguna Beach Chorale and Celestial Opera Company. I have worked extensively in Los Angeles schools performing musical assemblies for students in elementary and middle grades through Southland Opera, LA Opera and Guild Opera of Southern California. My teaching experience includes private voice lessons and master classes at Idyllwild School for the Arts.

*** Lesson Details ***
I emphasize breathing techniques to free up the voice to expand your range and ease of singing. In
the lesson, we start with simple warm ups and vocalizes and then apply techniques to the songs you want to sing. I realize each student is different and I customize the lesson to the student's particular needs. I specialize in classical and music theater, however the basics of singing apply to all styles of music. In addition to working on breathing and technique for singing, we'll also focus on interpretation of the songs you are working on as well as how to overcome performance nervousness. Most students find that they are able to sing with more freedom, less tension and will have more confidence as they progress.

I also teach beginning piano, using the John W. Schaum series.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in the main room, upright piano

*** Travel Equipment ***
They need to provide a piano or keyboard if I am going to their home.
I have a piano in my home.

*** Specialties ***
I work on using the breath as a fundamental technique for singing. Singing should never hurt. I use a lot of imagery to achieve freedom in singing.

I have been singing for 22 years, and have been trained by the best of the best in the music industry. As an artist myself, I offer more than just the secret tricks and strategies to get you sounding your best - I offer real world experience for when you’re actually on stage performing, and coach with stage presence and performance teqnique.

About Melanie
I have been singing my entire life and started voice lessons at the age of 6, so I don't think it's ever too early to get started!

In addition to the many plays and showchoir programs I was involved in growing up, I have a BA in Theater/ Television from Pepperdine University, where I did numerous musicals and performances, as well as coached several productions.

Since being in LA, I have studied with some of the most prominent vocal coaches here, whose clients include Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, and more.

As a performer and artist myself, I felt that I had more than just the technique to teach, I have the experience. Anyone can be an amazing singer, but it's that extra "it factor" that will get a singer noticed. In my 5000+ hours of stage experience, I knew this was something I wanted to focus my efforts
on with my students, in addition to making you feel your absolute best about your instrument.

By the second lesson, in addition to exercises to help strengthen your voice, I will begin coaching you with the songs you're working on! Depending on your level of experience and purpose for the song (i.e: audition / performance) I will also coach you on stage presence and performance.

I love guiding my students to explore their singing voice and full artistic expression. I have a signature Vocal Registration Color Chart I formulated to provide a visual and concrete understanding of the different registers of 'colors' of the voice to be used for singing in different singing styles. My students have found this concrete visual to be immensely helpful to expand their range and for quickly switch singing styles since learning these shades of the voice is quite an abstract learning experience otherwise.

I also teach healthy vocal technique through successful breath support, effective vowel modification, and increased self-awareness and freedom in the body.

Aside from my signature Color Chart, what makes me unique is that I also provide Holistic Performance Coaching for serious vocal students ages 14+. This is a dive into personal, professional, and artistic growth. Fun & formal guided self-inquiry, goal-setting for audition and performance opportunities, ...

Singing can make you feel powerful, elegant and whole. With more applications than you can shake a mike at, learning to sing can give you confidence in all aspects of your life! My lessons focus on the whole picture--you'll learn to control your breath (sing with power!), to switch between head and chest voice without resorting to awkward transitions (sing with elegance!), and to use your whole body as your instrument for your best performance, whether that's on stage at karaoke or in the shower at home. Best of all, I'll give you tools and recordings to help you practice on your own. I also love answering all your burning questions about singing, the history of voice, and why your voice in particular does that funny thing (and how to use it to your stylistic advantage). Adults and children of all ages welcome.

About Lindsey
The best teaching is all about tailoring to the individual needs of the student--that's where I come in. As an alumna of Wesleyan University and the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, I have 8 years' experience tutoring Latin, Voice and a variety of other subjects to students young and old. My goal is for every student to look forward to lessons that are fun, varied, and educational in surprising ways. I'm also happy to answer any personalized questions before we get started. Let me know what's on your mind!
