There aren't too many schools for rapping that I know of. I learned the way most people learn: on the streets of the city they live in. I've listened heavily to records across Hip-Hop history and I practice MCing regularly as part of my work as a song improviser. I combine techniques from Classical Poetry to modern vocabulary to raise the ceiling on what is possible for an MC. I apply rules of discipline, dedication and determination learned as a Division 1 College Basketball Player. I share strategies from my own creative process and things I've learned teaching others. I have performed in pretty much every imaginable environment and will use that experience to help you to develop the routines necessary to exceed your potential as a performer.

Hip Hop & Rap highlights and demands excellence in one of my personal favorite aspects of music: rhythm! As a singer who started out as a drummer, rhythm was everything. The complex rhythms in these genres make me come alive as an artist and a teacher. Syncopation, one of the concepts in rhythm can be a challenging thing to understand but it's at the core of every interesting rap vocal. These vocals 'dig into' the music as another instrument in a way that they don't as strongly in other genres. Also the rhyming schemes used by various artists in these genres can be so challenging but SO rewarding when you can master them!

Rapping: Using the same techniques I use to teach voice I will help the student wishing to learn to rap . I can teach you how to rap the songs you love or, using my famous song writing techniques, help them write their own.

Hey, my lessons will be really patient, and understanding of your skill level. I currently am a Dallas rapper, I make conscious and spiritual music, been rapping for 7 years, and my music has gotten to an excellent level. I have my own producer and have currently done 2 shows, opened up for a rapper named "Asaint" on Spotify, he's an upcoming rapper, but he has already traveled the world doing Christian music, he's my personal mentor. I really, really am super passionate about this craft, I love rap and music because it is my therapy, it's how I connect with my higher power and I would want to give someone else the tools in order to how to connect with their true selves while doing music.
