My students not only learn to play the guitar, but learn "why they are doing what they are doing!" I teach all ages and I am very patient. We can work as fast or as slow as you like. I believe lessons should be informative and fun at the same time. I teach each students the basics of note reading, chord theory and scales as these subjects relate to the guitar. I use varoius method books like Hal Leonard, The FJH Music, as well as method books for children.

I have been very fortunate to have had some incredible teachers over the years - George Garzone, Kenny Werner, Billy Kilson, Ed Tomassi, Shannon LeClaire, and many others - and I know how much of a difference the right teacher can make.
I love to teach, and have been teaching both privately and in a school setting, as a band director, for many years. I have worked with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. Whether you want to learn how to read music, improve your technique, work on your sound, practice the fundamentals, develop your soloing, or all of the above, I can help take you to the next level.
I hope to work with you!

I'm not young, and I'm hard to teach music theory to, but he was patient, and is helping me figure a way into learning important stuff that I find kinda dry and not fun to practice. (I'm a good player, but music theory is very challenging to me.)"
Raymond is exceptional as a teacher and musician; always patient and enjoying the experience of guiding you to become the best musician you can be. His musical experience and abilities are evident. In addition to all of these qualities he is serious and dedicated to developing your knowledge and skills through discipline and practice - always with a sense of humor and enjoyment in the music and what you both are accomplishing. Learning to become a musician with Raymond is as enjoyable as listening and dancing to music. I look forward to my class with Raymond each time."
