Students will learn rhythm and chords. We will work on right and left hand techniques for maximum sound and tone. We will also cover how to improvise over common chord progressions.

About Ruben

Over the course of my musical career, I have had the opportunity to learn from many musicians. From University Professors to Street Corner Musicians, I have gathered much knowledge on how to play music. Applying that knowledge to my guitar playing has opened up many doors of opportunity and has ma

My daughters first online lessons and a wonderful experience! Ruben is very engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. He is easy to contact, accommodating and quick to respond to questions. Would highly recommend!

My 9-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son have been taking uke lessons for 3 weeks now and they really enjoy Ruben's style of teaching; so do we. He provides a great combination of making it fun while also really teaching them the foundations of music. They are already reading and writing some music and they enjoy doing their music homework. Most important, they are having fun at the lessons and while practicing at home.

John Krauss has been teaching our 4th grade boy acoustic guitar for the past year. When he started, our son could not clap a rhythm to save his life but now is learning to strum on beat and follow along with lessons successfully. John challenges our 9 year old with different styles and techniques that push him to the next level. He encourages our child in a warm and respectful way. We appreciate John's professionalism and patience with working with a young student. We highly recommend him. "John is a nice guy who helps me learn new chords and licks. I like my lessons!" says the 4th grader.

I thought trying to learn to play the guitar at the age of 35 with no musical background, with kids and a full time job was a daunting task. That was until I met John. I have had 30 minute lessons with John for the past year and a half. There was a steep learning curve for me in the beginning, but John remained very patient and encouraging. His knowledge of music and his ability to explain and teach in a way that I could understand is second to none! I can now play a couple dozen songs and have a great foundation of skills to play many many more! I recommend John to anyone of all ages who wish to learn how to play the guitar.

We are very happy that our son takes guitar lessons with John Krauss. John is a very skilled and versatile guitar teacher. He was adept at discovering my son's specific interests and learning style(s) and has tailored his lessons accordingly. My son enjoys, and looks forward to his lessons.
John brings a lot of experience as a musician to his teaching. For much of his life he has performed on stage as a Rock and Jazz guitarist. In addition to teaching music, John Krauss is an award winning sound engineer. He has recorded musical ensembles and soloists, as well as, audio books by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Senator Fred Thompson, and other well known authors, speakers, and public figures.

I've been playing guitar on and off (mostly off) for the past 15 years. I came to Daniel to learn music theory, improve my rhythm, and learn the skills I need to confidently show up to a jam session with other musicians. In just a few lessons, I've significantly improved in each of those areas at Daniel's instruction. He REALLY knows his stuff and quickly hones in on your strengths/weaknesses and has great advice for how to improve on your weaknesses.

If you are looking for a guy that can teach you the basics of how to play an instrument, or someone that can take you from just learning songs online to being able to create your own songs and jam with other musicians, Daniel is your guy.

Whether you're tackling singer-songwriting, accompaniment, pop/rock, jazz/funk/r&b, or even classical exercises, I can help you. I've studied piano/voice/guitar long enough to know what each kind of instrumentalist/vocalist needs. I'm well versed in a overview of all genres and styles, as well as specialized areas of study. As a writer, I'm also very familiar with coaching instrumentalists geared towards composition and arranging. If you're looking to improve your skills, I can help!

About Jake

I want to teach the material that excites students. After a handful of really crummy experiences with teachers who wanted me to learn a specific way, I stumbled across a music school in Philadelphia and a college in Boston that really got the principle of teaching what students are drawn to. Bruc

"Andrew is an excellent instructor. He is really knowledgeable in music theory. I took lessons for only a short time but was able to learn so much, because he used my knowledge of piano to help me understand guitar concepts and he focused on the techniques and songs that I was most interested in."

"My lessons with Chris were amazing!! Chris teaches at a pace that is manageable and you never will feel overwhelmed. The bast part about his approach is his ability to teach music theory and not make it boring or complicated. Chris is also great at changing the lesson plan on the fly if we stumble on to something to explore further. My guitar playing improved greatly under Chris and I would recommend him to anyone looking to take lessons."

"I have been taking acoustic guitar lessons with Rina for about 10 weeks. When I first started I did not know anything about the guitar, but she made it easy by getting me started on learning just one sting at a time. Now I know all of the strings and play chords and a number of tunes. She is very patient and an excellent instructor. I am very happy with my progress and I plan on continuing with guitar lessons until I can play a wide variety of music."

"Sam is an amazing teacher! He’s so easy going (so my kids feel comfortable, able to ask questions and ask for input). This is great for confidence building! He’s also extremely knowledgeable and able to inspire the creative artist within your child. He gives concrete, helpful instructions on how to improve and practice each week. My kids always have a plan for their week which makes improvement a no-brainer. My kids have improved by leaps and bounds since taking lessons from Sam. They love the skill and artistry they are attaining and love their lessons from Sam. Great guy, great teacher. You will not be disappointed!!!"

"Chris is great! I've been trying to learn via Rocksmith for ~2 years, and I'd made some good progress, but I felt like I was missing some things. I started taking lessons with Chris about 3 months ago, and he's been awesome at figuring out where I am and which skill gaps I can fill to make me a better guitarist overall. His lessons are a fun mix of practical application and (a very non-scary, beginner-oriented take on) music theory. He's great at tailoring lessons to what I want to learn and is always really positive and encouraging! I highly recommend him!"
