As someone that has rehearsed and worked on chamber music with Antonio, I have to say that his pedagogy extends much further than bassoon. His background in rehearsal techniques and broad musical knowledge have been indispensable during our rehearsals, and he has often pointed out ways in which I can fine tune the expressionistic or technical aspects of my playing. Awesome teacher!

My daughter has been taking lessons with Cassandra for 7 years. She is knowledgeable, kind, caring, and compassionate. She dedicates herself to her students and goes above and beyond to create educational experiences both in and outside the classroom. Her prices are very reasonable and she devotes extra time and energy to ensure all the tools needed for success with a double reed instrument are in place. She works well with beginning elementary students all the way through to college students auditioning for elite music studios. She is well connected in the bassoon community. It would be impossible to find a better instructor. My daughter will miss her when she is away in college.
Brenna
I switched from trombone to bassoon in my sophomore year of high school and took lessons with Cassandra for my junior and senior years. In that time, I learned faster and better than with any music instructor I've had in my life. Part of it was the necessity of learning how to play at a high school level incredibly rapidly, but most of it was due to Cassandra making it easy and fun to learn and practice. She was amazing at identifying bad habits or roadblocks before they became huge issues that were hard to address and coming up with solutions to help me get past them. And more than anything, she made me confident enough in my skill to truly enjoy practicing and playing again.
JC
Wonderfully motivating and terrifically skilled at teaching music, Cassandra was a blessed find for us as a bassoon teacher. Her knowledge of bassoon is extensive -and not just for playing and learning music - where to rent, how find quality supplies at a reasonable cost, on the fly simple repairs, who to go for more complex instrument maintenance,etc.... Lastly her connections in our local community allow for exposure and advancement if that is your kid’s path - or just fun and some enjoyable, confidence building performance experiences

Your goals, plus my five years of professional teaching experience will help me craft a plan for our lessons together. I adjust around the needs of the student. So if I detect that you learn best in a certain way but our plan doesn't exactly leave room for it, we will adjust as we go until we get it right!

He is a well trained musician with a lot of patience, which for our lessons went a long way. He is quick to help you find the right correction to technique, and will always cater to your personal needs. His lessons work well even online, as he is able to succinctly verbalize what and how something to be worked on. I highly recommend him as a teacher!

Carl Gardner is an A1 bassoonist. Over the past year and few months he’s improved everything about my playing, technically and musically, and helped me achieve goals I previously thought were impossible. His reeds are immaculate! 5/5 stars would recommend him to any bassoonist I meet.

Social distancing will not interfere with solo competition! Carl made certain that my daughter did not miss a lesson by proactively finding a way to have one online. Although she prefers to be taught in person, this has definitely allayed her fears of not having her solo polished and ready for competition!

"Lee Quick has been an exceptional online bassoon instructor for our 15 year old from middle school into high school. We have had experience with face to face lessons with two other highly regarded private instructors and, in comparison, the online lessons with Lee have been consistently enjoyable and a highlight of the week for our daughter. Lee provided very helpful hints and tips for perfecting performances with the school orchestra the regional youth orchestra. Lee also helped our daughter sustain her interest and skill on the instrument by providing music and suggestions for exercises and continued development when she was not formally involved in any performance programs. Highly recommended."

"I couldn't be more happy with the bassoon lessons that Jack has with my daughter. The online lessons are so convenient and a great way to work with this fantastic teacher. Jack's teaching style is extremely positive and supportive. He encourages my daughter to push out of her comfort zone and grow as a musician. The progress that she has made with him is incredible. He is very knowledgeable about music and integrates music theory, sight reading, and rhythm studies into their lessons. You can see that he loves playing and teaching the bassoon and that excitement carries over to my daughter. She never wants to put her bassoon down after their lessons! Lessons with Jack have been the best thing we've done to support her playing bassoon."
