I've been teaching guitar for over eight years. I've previously been a part of two bands during my formative years and recently have been a session guitar player for four upcoming indie rock, alternative, and R&B/Soul albums.
For children and beginners, I use the Mel Bay publication Children's Guitar Chord Book as well as Hal Leonard's Guitar Method series. I also apply basic music theory that includes learning the Circle of Fifths and basic reading of sheet music.
For intermediate guitar players, I utilize the Gibson's Learn and Master Guitar series to teach Power Chord Formation and Delivery, Fingerpicking, Pentatonic Scales, Reading Tabulature, and tackling some of classic rock and jazz's favorite tunes.
For guitar lessons at my studio, I leverage Guitar Pro to project and display tabs and play-alongs with ease. For in-home lessons, I use the software for select lessons as we begin song selection and play-alongs.
I can't wait to rock out with you as you find your inner ...

Learn to play songs, improvise for the first time or explore new ideas for improvisation, study rhythmic grooves and learn to keep and feel the beat. Guitar can be a vehicle for your souls' deepest expression and also a form of practicing meditation. I began teaching before I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. After Berklee, I performed in several bands, toured Europe and worked as a sound engineer for both live and studio settings including several festivals in Costa Rica.. I can help guide you with creating your own sound recordings if desired. Whether you are just getting started or an experienced guitarist looking for some unique perspective I'd love to help you find a new groove! My favorite styles to play are rock, reggae, R&B and the blues but I also play funk, jazz and classical guitar. Drop me a line today!
About Jennifer
I began playing guitar at 12 years old. Before that I had dappled with the piano and always sang. There was something about the guitar that just drew me in! I always loved seeing the hands of guitar players and the sounds that would accompany those shapes. Guitar is a very pattern based instrum

If you want to get started with guitar, I'm the one you've been looking for. I'll get you started with basic theory, then I'll gradually move on to more advanced topics. I have a good background in this subject. I've actually taught this subject to a student who already had seven years experience; he didn't know how to put chords together in the right way. Guitar can be fun!

He has a comprehensive approach and yet it keeps me interested and makes me really want to practice.
He is also teaching my 11 year old son and had captured his imagination too.
Furthermore he comes to our home and is a Luthier to boot! Setup both our guitars to the point where I kid you not they both sound SO much better.
I cannot recommend David highly enough."

The fact that he is one of the most inexpensive teachers is just a bonus. I couldn't find anywhere else that offered his price. Anyone wanting to learn guitar or get better at playing should definitely go to Ahmad.
You won't be sorry and you will actually see results."

Nils is an awesome instructor and have been learning and improving a lot. I plan to do in person and Skype lessons when I travel."
