This is Lucas' 3rd lesson and he has enjoyed everyone of them. Joe has been patient and continues until he gets the lesson. He relates to him and teaches at his level (Lucas is 11).

When I spoke with Frank on the phone, he was apologetic that there will be construction going on during the private parkour lesson in the facility. I told him I did not mind as long as his instruction was great. Well, the lesson with Frank proved to be outstanding. He had a positive energy, was very encouraging and patient, and he knew how to observe, break things down to manageable pieces, and build on student's success. My 13 year old son was also impressed with Frank and really liked the way he taught.

About Christine
Music has been my food, soul and expression since birth, and I share that same passion with each of my students every day. Not only do my students train in building exceptional vocal technique, but also character preparation, repertoire selection, posture development, resume and audition skills, and personalized career coaching based on their levels. I believe in training an all-around performer who does not limit their abilities to only one thing, but being versatile and constantly thinking outside of the box!

A little about my background: I studied at San Jose State University, graduatin
g with honors in the Music Performance program with a focus in Operatic/Classical studies. To supplement, I also have my degree in Musical Theater & Dance from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (Los Angeles and New York). I sing opera and musical theater professionally, as well as dance and act. I love creativity, spending time with friends, family, and animals, and am a big advocator for education/the arts!

I have taken voice lessons from Christine for about 3 years. I am so lucky to have found her.

Christine knows how to lay the foundation and give me the tools I need to build my own singing voice. She has taught me to feel and understand the complexity of my singing anatomy, to associate different tones to physical feeling. She has given me the tool box I need to continuously improve my voice, to get where I want my voice to be.

She is very professional and very patient. She does not cut corners and will do everything possible to get you where you want to go. She thoroughly understands the voice and she really knows how to teach.

Christine is now my third vocal coach in the bay area. My first coach did an excellent job focusing on exercises, but wanted to shape my voice to the style he wanted. My second coach was a fantastic cheerleader to the point that it felt like puffery and I started doubting his praise. At our first lesson, Christine took the time to ask me what I was looking for and what instruction style I wanted and, I have to say, she has been nailing it!.

Her technical pointers are spot on, she finds the tips and tricks that work for me, and her praise always feels earned. And, to be fair, I often earn her criticism, too, but it is polite and she makes sure I understand why I drew it.

As one final note, I think there is an ocean of difference between understanding how to sing in theory and understanding how to sing because of personal experience. Theory is great, but it doesn't always translate to the real world. Having an instructor that knows what tends to work in the real world was an important quality for me. I recently got a chance to see Christine perform and it's pretty clear that she knows what works in the real world. So, in lessons, the advice she gives isn't just "the golden rule." It's what she would do and believe me, you want to do what she would do.

Christine is simply amazing. She is funny, talented, and devoted to her students.
I am an actress who has the capacity to sing but have poor technique. Her combined Musical Theatre and Opera backgrounds are a recipe for success. She is so knowledgeable about proper technique to keep your voice safe and to maximize your sound!
She has always been true to my voice and has lifted me. I feel truly honored to be her student.
I recommend her to all of my musical theatre friends. Book while you can, her classes fill up fast ;)
