*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are tailored to the individual student's initial abilities. In all genres of music, it is important to breathe well, have breath support, communicate the emotion and character of the song, and eliminate vocal bad habits. These issues are different for everyone.

I teach a classical Italian technique of breath support and beautiful tone, and these techniques can be applied to all musical styles.

The student will be assigned and choose songs to learn and work on as we incorporate the techniques into the songs and vocal exercises.

Piano lessons and Italian lessons are also available from ages 4 and up. Piano lessons include music theory and recital participation. Voice lessons include recital participation. Italian lessons are available at my location, your location or online.

About Trevor
Every musician was first and foremost a fan of music. My love of
music began when my mother took me to a performance of Beethoven's
fifth symphony when, coincidentally, I was five. From that point, I
started fervently listening to my mother's records (those are the
huge, black monstrosities that people in the pre-historic used in
place of iPods), followed closely by my father's CD collection.
After a while, this ravenous desire of to know and feel music moved
me to play an instrument. After a couple of false starts with the
drums and violin, I found my true musical calling: the guitar.

On January 25th 1995, on a whim, I began playing the
guitar, and I have yet to put it down. Along the way I've picked up
a number of friends for my guitar, including the bass, the lute, the
sitar and, once again, the drums. After on
ly a few years of
practice, I started playing professionally, in bands and solo guitar.
Live playing experience, I believe, is the most important experience
that any musician can have, in that, the most important part of music
is how it sounds, and playing in front of people is the quickest way
to learn how to play effectively. And this is what I teach; how to
be a musician, not just a technician.

*** Lesson Details ***
A student can expect a curriculum tailor-made to their needs and personality. Every person learns differently and this is an important distinction in my teaching style. Some students need a strong hand to keep them working, others need to find many different ways to the same conclusion to keep them focused, while still others need a laid-back friend in order to accept knowledge.

I stress rhythmic literacy, for, as my jazz teacher always said, "rhythm is king." If composition is important to you, then we'll focus on music theory, but if you're just wanting to learn how to play some fun rock tunes with your friends on the weekends, we can do that as well. As I stated before, we'll get you playing in front of people in no time.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide an amplifier, a loner guitar (if needed), staff and/or tablature paper, metronome, pens and paper for the lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Music theory and composition, guitar, bass, lute, beginner to intermediate piano
Classical, shred, blues, and rock guitar; renaissance lute; blues, rock and slap bass; composition of many styles; world music.

I would think the first lesson is always the hardest to start since as an instructor you don’t know what skill level you will be teaching. Trevor started the class asking what I wanted to accomplish and ended with lots of practice lessons for me to complete. Looking forward to more classes with him.

About Jackie
Hi there! My name is Jackie, and I have nearly 20 years of experience in teaching. All of my students, meaning a perfect 100%, have improved their grades by at least one letter grade, if not more, and passed every one of their tests and exams. I help all my students reach their goals.

The feedback I often receive from my students is that I made learning an enjoyable experience—they want to work harder to advance quickly in their classes. All of my students agree that I have a lot of patience and turn even the most challenging lessons into ones of positivity and encouragement. I provide critical feedback in the most constructive of ways that help the students reach conclusions on their own. I enjoy being there to support and guide their experience.

Basically, I love teaching. I'm enthusiastic yet patient, and I absolutely adore helpi
ng kids and adults alike learn. It's such a sense of accomplishment when my students show off their terrific grades. I see the same look in my students’ eyes regardless of age—that pride that shines from within, that exuberant smile, like they can conquer anything. I want my students to keep that pride for a long, long time.

Right now, I’m working on self-publishing a Spanish conversation textbook for beginning students and am writing an intermediate-level Spanish conversation textbook. I've also written several academic articles published online. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, playing with my cat, and swimming.

Really great vocal teacher. He's very patient to his students. He goes on all the topics about singing. He's really good at helping his students prepare for a song. He doesn't waste time on any unnecessary practice. He teaches his students how to practice at home. I learned a lot of singing terms from him as well. Overall, I think he's a great vocal coach.

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

After having resized that I couldn't make it as a pro volleyball player or chess master (I wasn’t any close), I spent the last few years studying passionately Architecture and working abroad. This competence has always been clear to me and it converges in the work with different design teams.
When I am not in front of a computer screen, I am usually with my cat and my one year English Setter/Hound dog mix, who loves to run and exercise even more than I do. I am very much a kid at heart, love to cook, watch good films, play games, and travel whenever I can.
I love meeting new people and learning new things. Linking the eyes with the heart, before shooting a photo or painting on a canvas are the activities which I prefer. Bringing with me the sketch book is a call for my soul. I love good communication and when I do something I’m always sea
