Experienced clarinet teacher of 10 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of musicianship skills. I specialize in classical music, typically use Rubank books, but I am happy to help you learn whatever music you're interested in, or prepare for whatever upcoming audition or challenge you have.

I received my Doctorate in clarinet performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in May 2020. During my doctoral program, I was the teaching assistant in clarinet for three years. Previously, in May 2016, I graduated from California State University with a Master in Music in clarinet performance under the teaching of Hakan Rosengren, international soloist. Finally, prior to my doctorate studies, I studied with Boris Allakhverdyan, principal clarinetist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. I am a Buffet Crampon USA sponsored artist.

I have the experience of teaching private lessons in France and America and I am seeking clarinet students of every level and age.

I will focus my teaching on your needs and can help you improve technique, musicianship and sound production. I also can help you get ready for auditions and recitals.

We go over correct air support, embouchure, correct hand placement etc.

I have been teaching over sixteen years.

I tailor each individual lesson to that persons goals, needs, wants, and styles.

My goal is to learn music the fun way. Along the way we'll learn theory, chords, scales, ear training, composition, reading music, tempo etc

My major instrument in college was clarinet, but I am a woodwind specialist, having performance experience on flute, clarinet, and saxophone. I have a particular affinity for late beginners, and have had some success in helping these students catch up to their peers. All of my woodwind students use the Rubank method books in addition to any method books they may already be using in their band classes. I also introduce appropriate literature and studies specific to each instrument once the basics have been mastered. I encourage all of my woodwind students to participate in OMEA Solo and Ensemble contest and to audition for OMEA District and State Honor Bands.

Experienced and qualified teacher of 9 years, I specialize in teaching clarinet and secondarily teach cello and piano. I welcome clarinet players of all ability levels! I am most experienced in teaching beginner/intermediate cello and piano. I believe in a positive approach to education, and believe creating a fun atmosphere will maximize student growth with their instrument. I come from a background of teaching elementary general music, band, and choir, middle school band, and high school band. I look forward to making music with you soon!

We will use one of the beginner books depending on your level of ability. I want to use scales and exercises to make sure you are getting a good foundation as a clarinet player. We may play duets to help you increase your independence. I want to see you working on a solo also to be performed at recital.
