I'm Ahmad a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself guitar at the age of 12. I moved to the U.S. in 2001 and studied music for 15 years receiving my B.M. and M.M in music and audio production at San Francisco State University. I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. I ranked #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition.

I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition.

I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, kind, flexible, and enthusiastic and I love working with children as much as adults. I strongly support basic skills: sight-reading, pitch and tone.

I have 25 years experience teaching kids and adults guitar. Also performing live and in the studio.

*** Lesson Details ***
My objectives: to help students powerfully communicate through the essence of music and aid the development of children and adults by finding their strengths and weaknesses and to develop their skills and show their musical talents. I emphasize basic skills, good sight-reading, guitar technique, and theory.

Lessons are held at either your home, or mine using composers from various time periods that speaks to the individual student.
Also,I do prefer to work weekly with my students.
A beginner lesson may be 10-15 min. for warm-ups and scales, 10-15 min. theory and rest playtime. In three to six months the student will be able to read sheet music and should be able to perform simple songs.

An intermediate lesson has more focus on music and technique from a specific genre. A specialty is preparation for guitar auditions or doing live or studio gigs.

I enjoy teaching children from age 5 up to adults.

*** Specialties ***
I teach the basic skills very strongly, and also encourage students and challenge them, as well.
I also have new techniques for teaching Electric, Acoustic & CLassical Guitar.
I do prefer to teach a weekly lesson.

I had been trying to learn the guitar for a while and met several teachers along the way. However it was with Ahmad that I developed the interest and excitement you experience when you play a guitar. Ahmad is the best guitar teacher hands down. In a very short time I have been able to understand not just how to play the guitar but also music in general. Ahmad is a very enthusiastic teacher who keeps the momentum going throughout the session. If you are in the area and want to learn the guitar you should definitely pay Ahmad a visit.

Ahmad is very knowledgeable, but most of all, his love for music is obvious. He has a great basic lesson plan, but also tailors to individual needs. Highly recommend

Ahmad is an excellent guitar teacher! He's super enthusiastic and genuinely excited to help you reach your goals as a guitar player. His lesson plans and materials are thorough and easy to follow. I've only been taking lessons for a few weeks and can already play three songs. I'm excited to continue learning!

The lessons are about YOU and the music YOU want to learn. There are always certain aspects regarding technique and theory that encompass all musical genres, but I always try to put it in the context of the music YOU enjoy.

About Ian
I do not use a "cookie cutter" approach to teaching. Every person is different so their lesson plans should reflect that. There are of course some basics that everyone needs to learn regarding technique and music theory, but styles and approaches differ from student to student.
My father is a professional studio and touring musician who worked with bands and artists such as Supertramp, John Denver, Dolly Parton just to name a few. He started hiring me at 16 years old to play piano on numerous projects getting my foot in many doors. I have since built my own career working as a songwriter, ses
sion musician, live performer, recording engineer, and teacher.
I have performed live or on records with John Robinson Jr. (drummer for Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand, Quincy Jones, etc.) Abraham Laboriel (Bassist for Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Elton John, etc.)
I have written and recorded 60 plus songs that have placed in Television shows such as Access Hollywood, Dr.90210, Jack and Bobby, and others.
I was the musical director for Jillian Cardarelli (an up and coming Country music artist).
In the end, who I am is a musician passionate about teaching. It's the most rewarding job I've ever had. So if you want a teacher who is excited to be teaching then I'm the guy for the gig.

My method of teaching focuses on building up strengths and knowledge so that a student can become proficient at learning on their own. I do this by creating a custom curriculum for each individual I teach. This accomplishes two things, keeping you as a student entertained and enthusiastic. I have background in music theory, and have taught for several years to beginners. This has allowed me to learn to adapt to each individuals learning style so that they progress quickly.

About Austin
I love teaching others, and I love music. So what better to do with my time than to spread the knowledge and joy with others who are interested. Music is fun, relaxing, and exciting all at the same time. I've been teaching for 6+ years with several different types of students, and have studied with a professor at Stetson's University of Music, while also networking with several longtime instructors to learn how too better convey the information being taught. So if you're enthusiastic and excited about music lets take the journey together and pursue your aspirations further!

A great teacher with a lot of patience for newer players, we meet once a week and each week we would learn a new exercise that would also relate to the new song we would be learning. He was always ready to answer any question no matter how hard it was. I would recommend him to anyone that's looking to learn any instrument.

I've been teaching guitar for over 30 years, and several of my students have gone on to perform professionally in various musical styles over the years, and a few even own music stores! Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play your favorite songs, and as time goes on you'll be able to build up a set of songs to perform, if you so desire! I specialize in rock and metal guitar, typically use several different books and lesson pains of my own creation, and have the following tools available for your lessons: an amplifier. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Steve
Steve has been teaching professionally since 1986, a career that has seen him span from private teaching 40-60 students in all styles and levels weekly in the Bay Area for for nearly 20 years (1989-2006), before relocating to London, England, to beginning a music college teaching career that has spanned nearly a decade, and seen Steve receive a PGCE (UK post masters teaching qualification), as well as see his previous experience of preparing students for music college come to fruition in the shape of teaching various classes in 3 different UK music colleges (BIMM Brighton, ICMP London, and ACM
Guildford), as well as having a hand in writing coursework. Steve has written and taught several Metal Workshop courses across these colleges that were well received. In addition to this, Steve was one of the first rock guitarists to develop and begin a live internet teaching business, something he has maintained consistently for the last 11 years going, since 2007.

Steve takes a direct approach to teaching one to one lessons, assessing a student’s goals and abilities, and designing a personalized program for them, as well as providing email correspondence between lessons and all material used during the lesson in pdf and audio/video format.

Former lead guitarist for Vicious Rumors (1995-1999), Testament (1999-2004), Dragonlord (2000-2005), Nevermore (2002-2007), and Forbidden (2009-2012), currently busy with his own band One Machine (2014-present), as well as progressive rock fusion duo The EssenEss Project (1993-present), and is STILL a member of the Bay Area’s longest running Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne tribute, Sweet Leaf (1994-present)!

A former columnist for Guitar World Magazine (co-writer of Merchants Of Menace column with Jeff Loomis across 2006), Steve has occasionally written for GuitarWorld, amongst other sites, and also released an instructional series of lessons on JamPlay back in 2011, Steve has returned to the Bay Area to teach once again, and continues to expand his resume in both the performance/recording and educational areas.
