Hello! I have been teaching the flute and piccolo for the past nine years. My goal as a teacher is not only to help my students reach their musical goals, but also to instill a lifelong love of music.
My approach to teaching is based on students goals and needs. I try to make lessons as engaging and interactive of possible, and use technology whenever possible to assist in the learning process.
I am looking forward to meeting you!!!
Hello there! For the past nine years I have taught students of all ages and ability. In addition to maintaining a private studio, I have also taught at the college level as a graduate teaching assistant. While enrolled in flute lessons, students will receive instruction on developing tone, technique and musicality on the flute as well as focus on proper breathing and posture. In addition to being coached on practicing techniques, problem solving and setting and achieving realistic goals, students will learn how to constructively and positively assess their own playing. This creates a sense of ownership that allows the student to blossom into a mature musician and lifelong lover of music. This is my primary goal and purpose as a teacher. I am looking forward to meeting you and ...

My philosophy is to help the students focus on their mental and physical states while practicing and performing. If both their body and mind are relaxed when playing, they will accomplish more and be happier with their performance!
I have been taking private flute lessons for over 12 years and have experienced many different teaching styles and philosophies. I recently began teaching my own private lessons a little over a year ago, and since then I have learned a lot about helping students progress quickly and efficiently.
Each lesson will begin with a duet so that I can evaluate the student's progress since their last lesson. We will then discuss their practicing and what the student believes is working for them and what they are struggling with. I can then address any issues or concerns that they have throughout the lesson.
Students will be asked to study technical and tonal exercises as well as repertoire. I will help the student choose pieces that are at a good level for ...

She has been playing the flute for 12 years and is eager to share her knowledge and expertise of the instrument! Leanna grew up in a learning environment, as both her parents are teachers. Her mother teaches music in her hometown, so Leanna had the fortune of observing and listening to her mother give countless private lessons in their home.
