Yegues S. Lake Worth, FL

About Yegues

I have taken flute lessons from the flute professor at FSU as well as guitar lessons from Dr. Leo Welch here at FSU. I have given multiple lessons and master classes on both flute and guitar. I have also been a music theory tutor for many students. I have a lot of experience with both giving and receiving lessons, so I have learned many ways to adapt to any situation. I love laughing and making jokes, which is one of the most important aspects of any teacher. Lessons should be something to look forward to rather than dreading to spend time practicing. I do prefer being more laid back as a teacher, but still know when it's time to get more serious about the work. *** Lesson Details *** I am laid back most of the time time, but I still expect whatever we assigned to be practiced for ...

As always Yegues is a very patient teacher. When I feel overwhelmed he is able to assure me I am making progress and let me know what I am doing is is difficult only because I don't know it and that after awhile it will all come together. Thanks Yeagues

Yegues is a phenomenal multi-instrumental teacher, specializing in adaptive teaching styles. Yegues had the ability to adapt our lesson to any method that would further my individual learning goals. He and I met for several months during which time I received real results and nothing but high praise for my teacher.

About Melody

I started music at age 5. My parents were both professional musicians. My father was a professional jazz piano player and my mother a classical guitarist. So it is in the blood. I played a few instruments but my favorite guitar and piano. The bass is cool too. I went to Nassau Community College for Drama/Music I toured in theater groups and also was in a few bands while living in NY. I could not make up my mind so I did both. I love both ! I left NY to come down to So. Florida in 1991 due to my father's passing. Since I was new to the area I starting performing regular basis and became well known in the music community.I also went on a song writing spree which was good! I was able to do dinner theater in between the music. I met these two guys now my friends and music teachers from going

Several months ago, I was financially able to take piano lessons, and found "Takelessons" online. I was put in touch with Melody (I thought that was a perfect name for a piano teacher) and I WAS THRILLED WITH HER.

Melody is knowledgeable, helpful, patient and sweet. I still practice what she taught me, everyday and it was a lot for just a few lessons. When I can afford to, I will get Melody back for more lessons . She is worth every penny.

Sincerely,
Heidi Sanes

ps, Melody drew the notes on my fingers one day when I was struggling more than usual. ;)

pss, I TRIED to give Melody 5 stars and was unable to figure out how but, SHE GETS 5 STARS FROM ME :D

Helene K. Lake Worth, FL

About Helene

Helene grew up in Bara, a small village outside of Malmo, at the southern tip of Sweden. At a very early age Helene showed signs of being a performer and enjoyed being the center of attention. With 2 older brothers, Michael, 8 years older and Patrik, 5 years older, there was no lack of attention. Helene’s grandfather was a very well respected violinist, holding 1st violin chair at Malmo Stadsteater for over 30 years. In addition, her grandmother was known to have a beautiful voice. Helene considers them a major influence. Helene pursued every performance opportunity she got growing up, both in school and outside of school. At the age of 10 she joined a church choir that traveled the country to do performances. This is where she learned the basic techniques of singing. When she was ...

Helene is amazing and my daughter loved her lesson today. Helene has picked songs my daughter loves to sing - one of which she will now perform for a musical theatre examination she has in the future. Helene is the best music teacher my daughter has ever had and I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is a very talented lady!

Ms. Olga far exceeds even my very high expectations. She was a great choice and will follow her career with great enthusiasm and joy. She teaches my young daughter with strict joy. You can tell she loves to teach it. I want to become her student also.

Learning began the first minute of lesson 1 and has never stopped. She teaches classic piano discipline, form, theory, musicality, and performance. She teaches and demonstrates the art and science of piano.

I simply can not say enough good about her. I wish she is my wife.

I highly recommend Miss. Olga!

My 10 year old daughter has been playing piano on and off for two and half years, and we started to have lessons with Miss. Olga a month ago. Miss. Olga, who is classically trained, not only keeps a nice balance between theory and performance, but also accommodates my daughter's interests in contemporary music. My daughter just finished learning "Let it go" from Frozen, and has moved on to "Rock around the clock."

Every teacher has a point of view, personal preferences, and methodological bias that may fit one child but may not fit another child as well. Some of the teachers we have previously experienced, demonstrated how a piece of music would sound, then taught how to play it; one teacher taught with finger numbers only, another taught using musical notes. My last teacher taught with finger numbers and notes but unfortunately never ever played any songs for or with my daughter. I have books written with only finger numbers, as a result, my daughter still has hard time reading music. I have other books with names of music notes, but with insufficient fingering instruction which resulted in my daughter developing poor fingering technique. I used to have to go over the songs with my kids after each lesson.

Miss. Olga, on the other hand, demonstrates how the song should sound, then goes over the music line by line helping my daughter to figure out what the notes are, how to finger the notes and then plays the melody along with my daughter 8 octaves higher.

It seems that to Miss. Olga, learning how to play piano is a serious business, a business that the teacher and the student have to run together in order to be successful. Collaborative decision making with a child requires a willingness to listen, negotiate and compromise. As Jessica Turner (music educator) argues music instructors know about teaching music, but when it comes to your child and how s/he learns, we parents are the expert. As an educator myself, I appreciate that Miss. Olga lets me work together with her to ensure the fit and quality of my daughter's musical instruction. I feel fortunate that we have found such a great instructor for my daughter!

Aldrin is an excellent teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable and shows that knowledge in many ways. He is very patient and does not make me feel pressured. I am thrilled that he will be the person to give me my future lessons. His explanations of what we are doing are clear and concise. Cannot wait for the next lesson. As a matter of fact, my wife who listened in, will most likely take keyboard lessons from Aldrin as well.
