Barry T.

Las Vegas, NV

About Barry

I have almost 30 years of experience teaching voice, working with choral groups, voice students as well as classroom music instruction. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education as well as a Masters degree in music from an accredited school of music and have been performing both as a soloist and in vocal performance groups since I was a teenager. I bring to the vocal/music studio all of this experience as well as a heart to pass along this experience to others that desire to share the song that is in their heart. If it is your desire to sing, play the keyboard or guitar, please get in tou
ch with me!

*** Lesson Details ***
When a student gets started with me , wherever their interest lies, I work to discover where they are on their musical journey, discuss some goals they would like to set for themselves and put a teaching and learning plan into motion.

For vocalists my primary goal is to assist anyone who is looking to improve the tonal quality and strength of their singing or speaking voice while reducing vocal tension and voice fatigue.

I facilitate singers of any level, age or style who seek to improve breath support, diction, range, tone quality, and ease of singing. This is achieved through a variety of singing exercises, fun vocal drills and creative singing games that we do in lesson time and with instruction on what to do at home.

For individuals seeking to develop basic musical understandings in theory, keyboard skills and guitar, I endeavor to start with were they are and take them to where they desire to be as a musician; opening up doors of music understanding and performance skills that help them on their musical journey.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Keyboard/Piano, Sound system, computer

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a portable Keyboard if needed for in home keyboard lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Children's Voice and Vocal Techniques for all ages. Beginning piano and Keyboard basics.

She has performed all over the United States and the world as an artist singing on cruise lines such as The Royal Carribean, Carnival, NCL etc., and has shared the stage with The Jackson's, Barbara Striesand, Stevie Wonder, CeCe Winans and many others. Cyndi is currently music director and artist for the tribute act, "The Voices of the Supremes, which performs in various venues throughout the United States and abr
oad. She is also President/CEO of her own Entertainment company, Neuhaus Entertainment Group, and has produced CD projects for numerous up and coming artists.

As a teacher, Cyndi has taught "Vocal Technique" to students of all ages ranging from 6-70 for the past 25 years. She was Youth and Young Adult Music Director for Crenshaw Christian Center, one of the largest churches in America, as well as A&R for their record label. As a songwriter/producer/artist developer on staff for 12 years, she produced numerous CD projects. Her song, "The Power of Faith," that she wrote for the Ever Increasing Faith broadcast can be heard all over the world daily on both television and radio. Because of her meticulous instruction, many of her students have gone on to obtain professional careers in the entertainment industry singing backup vocals for named acts such as Ameridan Idol, Fantasia, Gospel recording great, Kim Burrell, Nikki Minaj. Adam Lambert, starring in the lead role of Young Simba in the Lion King Production at the Pantages Theatre, recording the title song for the movie "Another Cinderella Story II, singing for Middleweight Champion of the World, Sugar Shane Mosley at Madison Square Gardens, another of her students went on to become part of the Grammy award winning girl group "Isis" and yet another is one of the main cast members on the hit TV show "Glee".

As a teacher, I get immense satisfaction from seeing my students excel and fly using the techniques and tools that I have taught them," Cyndi says beaming with pride. "My students have done tremendous things in the industry and it is my pleasure to continue to pass down the nuggets of wisdom and skill that I've obtained from over 30 years in the entertainment business."

Cyndi's training began at age 8 where she studied classical piano for 6 years. By age 15, she and her brother released their first independent single which did reasonably well locally. By age 19, while studying music at Ohio University, she along with her brother won "Right On" magazine's nationwide talent search and were offered two major recording contracts. She decided to sign with Philadelphia International Records under the auspices of Grammy Award winning producer, Thom Bell (who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). She studied under Thom Bell and it was there that she learned the art of record production. She also studied vocal production under legendary Grammy Award winning producer, Hal Davis (Jackson five fame). Cyndi was taught proper vocal technique by vocal trainer to the stars, Seth Riggs and continued her private studies learning the vocal techniques of the great Alan Linquist. Her teaching style has subsequently morphed into a combination of all these great inspirational instructors.

As a teacher, Cyndi is kind, patient and extremely enthusiastic when it comes to instructing her students. Her students always see her as their friend and one who they know will bring out the best in them and desires that they grow to their fullest potential.

When you come to Cyndi for voice lessons, you can rest assured that your vocals will never be the same. She is as comfortable teaching the beginner as she is instructing the seasoned professional who wants to hone their skills even further. She can always bring something out of you that you didn't know was there. Maybe it's the confidence that she exudes when she instructs, maybe it's her innate ability to know what's needed at any given time to make the student better. But whatever it is, you can rest assured that your lesson will be fun, thorough, and the lesson plan that she devises will cause you to arrive at the musical goals that you've set for yourself. She can help you or your child prepare for upcoming auditions, as well as any other scheduled performance. Cyndi will create a lesson plan that will certainly be tailor-made for your style and needs.

*** Travel Equipment ***

I also train my students to breath properly utilizing the lower lumbar area along with breathing from their diaphragm. I have to admit, I was a skeptic about online vocal lessons. I am so glad I took the plunge because my very first lesson online with Cyndi was absolutely AMAZING! She took the time out to make sure I understood the proper technique and how to achieve desired results. I have learned so much in this first lesson than I have by my fourth lesson with other vocal coaches! She made me feel so comfortable as I am extremely shy and nervous, however, she was able to break me out of my shell. I will most definitely continue sessions with Cyndi, I might not ever let her go!

Terri M.

Las Vegas, NV

About Terri

At age nine I began piano and clarinet lessons and continued my music studies throughout high school and into college. I played in numerous solo and ensemble festivals, honor bands, piano recitals, adjudicated piano and soloist competitions, scholarship competitions and numerous concerts. I learned at a very young age that enthusiasm and creativity expressed by my teachers played an integral role in my motivation to succeed. My experience playing in band, orchestra, ensembles and as a soloist, gives me an enhanced ability to convey lessons in harmony either played between hands or in duets/ens
embles.
Because I also have a strong background in ballet and ballroom dance, I utilize these talents to reinforce time signature and rhythm lessons. It's amazing to see how my students transfer the rhythm from their feet to their fingertips accurately. This method also helps them visualize and interpret the music in a more satisfying manner.
Music is the centrifugal force in my life which I joyfully extend to my family and students. I am the proud mother of four children who grew up in a musical home; three of them are proficient, award-winning pianists. My students are also award-winning competitors in the Lisa Fiorenza Junior Piano Competition, Las Vegas, NV.
I have enjoyed teaching piano students ranging in age from 3 to 80 years old. Let's Make A Joyful Noise Together!

*** Lesson Details ***
Students will be taught: Music Theory, Technique, Ear Training, Memorization and Performance Etiquette.
Methods used:
I utilize the Alfred's Piano Basic Library for beginner to intermediate students of elementary to adult age.
I utilize the Bastien Piano Basics for beginner students of preschool to early elementary age. Siblings are put in different methods to individualize their study.

After 3 to 6 months of study, beginner students who practice consistently and attend lessons consistently will be able to:
Identify and quantify notes: Quarter note, Half note, Whole note and Eighth notes
Count in three time signatures: 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time
Read notes on the Grand Staff
Play in the positions of Middle C, C, G and F
Recognize sharps, flats and dynamic signs
Read music by note names and by melodic and harmonic intervals as well as ear recognition of these intervals.
Triads and Primary Chords may also be introduced in this time period

Students will be given the opportunity to showcase their progress in performance recitals twice a year and encouraged to share their new-found talent in other community venues, such as: school talent shows, local competitions and church ministries.

Although I've only had one lesson, Mr. V took the time to ask me questions about my goals and what types of music I liked. He had me play some exercises to see where I was at in my ability and can now plan my lessons accordingly. I look forward to learning new things and progressing in my guitar-playing ability.

Marlow is a fantastic young man. He was able to diagnose my limitations and work around them, as well as help me work on them. He knew where I was coming from without my ever having to tell him, and whenever an issue came up, he helped me through it by explaining things in a very professional way. I highly recommend Marlow as a teacher
