Teachers Rock! Teacher Appreciation Week Shout Outs To Amazing Teachers

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we couldn’t be more proud of all the amazing men and women we have the privilege to work with. Every day, our teachers make a huge difference in the lives of thousands of students, and we’re so grateful to be a part of their successes!

Recently, we asked our students to tell us why they’re thankful for their teachers and what they appreciate about them. Here’s just a handful of the amazing stories we heard from our students:

Ryland W. in San Diego, CA

Ryland Whittington

Six-year-old Ryland takes drum lessons with Charles W. and looks forward every week to his lesson. But here’s the really amazing part: his mom Hillary says, “Charles taught my deaf son to play the drums after 1 month; he is AWESOME!”

Cheers to Charles for giving Ryland the skills and confidence to tackle drumming despite his hearing impairment!

Jaidan B. in Chandler, AZ

Keata Bakta

Jaidan has been taking piano lessons with his teacher Marty W. for two years, and in Marty’s time with TakeLessons we’ve heard many students say how much they love learning from her. Jaidan’s mother Keata says, “Marty has displayed her knowledge of music theory, love of the piano, patience, kindness, and compassion to my son Jaidan for the last two years in piano lessons. We truly appreciate all that she does!”

Thank you, Marty, for dedicating your time and energy to helping so many students learn music! We are truly grateful for your work.

Phil H. in Valley Village, CA

philip hartman

As an older student, Phil wasn’t sure how much he would be able to learn. Thanks to his teacher Mike T., who he describes as a great teacher and a fine gentleman, Phil is enjoying his mandolin lessons and making progress. Phil says, “When I feel I’m going too slowly, Mike has shown me  patience and encouragement. I am my own worst enemy, but he is my friend; I feel very lucky to have been placed with Mike as my instructor.  I am learning!”

Thank you, Mike, for your patience and for believing in your students. Your belief will give them the confidence to do amazing things!

 Brian W. in Chicago, IL

bryan werger

Brian shared this awesome piece of artwork that he made after beginning guitar lessons with Justin C. Brian says, “My guitar lessons with Justin have inspired me to not only pursue my love of music, but also my love of art, and this project was a tribute to both.”

Great work, Brian, and thank you Justin for inspiring your students to find their passions and pursue them.

Thank you to all of the teachers out there working odd hours, nights, and weekends to make sure your students succeed. Each one of you is a hero, and together we will all make a positive, lasting impact on the world.
