I have always been that student with a packed schedule who is going place to place at all times. It keeps me focused and motivated. However, I sometimes see the negative side as my stress builds up and I have a constant need to do productive. I have always valued my daily jogs. With nothing but my headphones (and GPS since I tend to be directionally challenged), I use this time to step away from my stress, and enjoy the outdoors. It calms me and makes me feel good, while convincing myself that I am still being productive by exercising. With our generation’s addiction to technology, we have a need for constant answers and activity. What we need is a chance to step away and be in the moment without the dependence of connecting to and keeping up with others. If I had my dream occupation, I would teach those who are stressed and moving all the time how to use this need for constant movement in order to take a break and empty their heads for even a short amount of time. It will make our generation a motivated, healthy, dedicated team. It will keep our generation up to par without exploding with stress and speed. Making a living while helping others is what planted the idea of becoming a Physical Therapist in my head, but if I could truly make a living doing what I love most, I would be outside jogging aimlessly through the woods and calm streets.
