I am ardent about reading about and conducting psychological research. I am principally keen on the areas of treatment and diagnosis of mental illnesses. If I did what I love most, I would conduct this research to improve the lives of individuals suffering with mental illnesses. My dream would be to see individuals who previously had a poor quality of life and/or were unable to adequately function in life become happy, healthy, and successful.

These individuals would be able to become fully functioning members of society. Their experiences could inspire and give hope to others who are still suffering. They could become artists, scientists, writers, etc. I could enable people to make contributions to society greater than the contributions that I was able to make myself.

More important than these individuals giving back to society, would be giving these individuals back their lives. Life could be more enjoyable for them; More time could be spent with loved ones. Diminishing the suffering of living creatures is perhaps the finest gift I could give to the world. I will act on that belief by doing my best to relieve suffering caused by mental illness. I would also choose to help at a food bank, a homeless shelter, an animal shelter, fight for civil and human rights, and even just to live humanely by choosing to be vegetarian/vegan. All these things are important and I will try to incorporate them all into my life.
