A photographer by the name of Berenice Abbott once said, “Photography helps people to see”. My passion in life is to expand on this quote. I want to be able to use my camera to show the world the secrets of itself as a photojournalist. At first I only wanted to become a freelance photographer, however I realized that I could have a greater impact on this Earth. In today’s world, we learn about worldly issues by reading magazines, online articles, newspapers, and watching the news. Without these resources we would know nothing about what’s even happening in nearby towns.
I recently read an article on Facebook about Middle eastern children being burned by acid and others marrying at young ages. I felt this immediate urge to learn more and share the troubles that are taking place around us. My dream and goal is to one day travel the world and learn about different societies and see how they live. Then share it with the less fortunate who are unable to see it for their selves in the National Geographic Magazine.
As people we only know what others tell us. I want to teach others about our world with my photos and words to help them see and feel the world. To be part of changing lives with my photographs and to open up the eyes of the blind that are desperately waiting for someone to help them see is my dream. That with time will become my reality.
