. Going beyond my own existence to touch the lives of others, specifically those tossed among the fringe of society is my personal vision. If I could, I would earn a living making detrimental changes in the trajectory of lives in children and teens that would shape a better society. Children and teens are defined and controlled by their parents’ choices. Whether it is poverty, substance abuse or a combination, the hurdles to having a better life than a previous generation are becoming insurmountable.
Realistically, not everyone has the motivation to change their paths, and our society is plagued with self entitlement attitudes. My goals to move towards this goal would be to set up a well funded home for teens that have out grown the foster or adoption care system. These individuals define the “fringe” of society as people who were not chosen. Voluntary participation and given the love and support to make a change. Each individual would experience normal functionality, learn successful coping skills and learn that if one person cares a world of difference can be made.
In my lifetime the numbers of inhabitants may not be great but perhaps it would inspire others to better our future generations. The results may not come immediately but bettering one person’s future is well worth the investment
