What I love most in this world is learning: from science to religion, from history to myth, I soak up information constantly. My absolute dream is to spend the rest of my life immersed in ancient artifacts, learning what they were used for and how they changed the day to day of the people who once touched those treasures. Once I learned the story of the relic, I would hopefully be able to touch a few brains with the wonderful story I had learned from a piece of human history.
History has the power to change the world. By knowing what happened in the past, we can prevent bad in the future. Not only does it prevent monumental mistakes, but also we learn how the people of a certain time period coped with life. We are shown how they were able to create something as great as the pyramids of Egypt or the terra-cotta warriors of China. In addition, if we can learn how to survive with less fossil fuels by studying the way of life of generations past, then the world will change. With more understanding comes more respect, and with respect comes a deeper level of caring.
This dream can and will be a reality. I plan to get a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and go on to get a doctorate in Archaeology. From there, dig sites and museums will call my name. And maybe I really will be able to change the world.
