If I could be a pediatrician and work back in my hometown, Hopkinsville, KY and earn a living from it that would make me happy. Considering I am an African American male I would like to go back to Hopkinsville to inspire young men and young women to go and get into higher education or pursue a STEM oriented career. I would like to clean up my community from what is now and make it better.

The town that I come from may be very small but there still is much to be done in the community and the overall outlook of the town. When I was growing up in Hopkinsville it was filled with nothing but negativity and no way to escape it unless you left. When I was younger I didn’t have a role model to look up to but I felt I was always held to a certain standard to become my own and become one for others. For example, I am a role model to my cousin who is now aspiring to be a doctor as well. I am helping others get involved here at University of Louisville with organizations that are centered around graduation and/or becoming a doctor.

Those are my aspirations and I want to make this plan and put into action as soon as possible. I appreciate you, the reader, for considering me for this scholarship and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
