It has always been my dream to become a doctor, now that I’m significantly older that dream is becoming a reality. No one really believed that I could make it this far, and hardly any of my family realized how far I could come. When I was accepted to Baylor University’s Pre-Medicine program, my family was stunned. I’m just now beginning my freshman year at Baylor, majoring in chemistry and have found out that I’m not financially settled. It would take a miracle for me to finish college without being in debt to several financial institutions and it would be even more of a miracle to go on to graduate school without the necessary funds. I’ve explored all areas of medicine, and I’ve discovered that I want to become an Oncologist. An Oncologist researches and treats various cancers, people die every day from this disease and even more are left with the burden of losing someone they love. I want to end cancer, I want to save lives, I want to spread happiness to those affected by cancer, and I want to extend the love of God to those who need it in their moment of weakness. It would take a miracle to cure cancer completely, and it would take a miracle to make my dreams a reality. Whatever happens, I know that God has a plan and that he will save, he will provide and he will extend his grace onto all of us.
