I have always had a dream to become a nurse when the tv series ER showed its first season. I know the show was based around the characters personal lives but just seeing the few moments of the interactions between patient and nurse/doctor showed me how important working in the medical field can help save lives and that’s how I want to help the world.
Nurses and nursing assistants are the main interaction with patients in a hospital environment. To understand how nurses change the world you need an understanding of what they do. Not only do they help provide patients’ personal hygiene and comfort but, also provides for daily activities, maintains patient stability, and understanding of the issues and what actions are being taken.
I have had the opportunity to work as a lab assistant in a hospital. Having the quick interaction with patients, I have seen the trust each patient has in their nurses and to trust someone means you get to know what’s really going on because not only can you see the physical damage but the emotional damage has an effect to help solve the situation.
Last year I was certified as a nursing assistant so my goal is to get my bachelors in nursing because to save the life of one person could make that better change for the world. “And that is how change happens. One gesture. One person. One moment at a time.” – Libba Bray.
