If I could earn a living doing what I love the most, I would be an Ophthalmologist. An Ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in the medical and surgical care of the eyes, visual system and in the prevention of eye disease and injury. This is already what I am pursuing in college. I would do my best to change the world buy finding cures to eye diseases and try to correct vision problems such astigmatism, near sightedness, and far sightedness. As I go deeper into the study, I aspire to create my own ophthalmology facility and create advanced technology that will better the lives of many people with vision problems. To make this dream a reality I am enrolled in school at Texas State University at San Marcos and I’m majoring in Biology. I plan to graduate from that school, continue on to medical school, and then proceed to study and practice ophthalmology. The goals I have set for myself to achieve my dream and make it a reality involves studying and making acceptable grades to be eligible for medical school. While I’m still in school I am going to start studying for the two-part examination given by the American Board of Ophthalmology. I am also going to start making connections with optometrists and ophthalmologists already in the field so I will possibly be able to get an internship with an ophthalmic facility and possibly have an assured job waiting for me once I successfully graduate from medical school.
