If I could make a living doing something that I love I would write books. Books about being a part of a blended family. I am bi-racial. My mother is black and my father is white. A shocker to some but this has been my life every day for the last 19 years. Being bi-racial has given me perspective into both worlds. My mother had my older 3 siblings out of a previous marriage. My older siblings have never treated my younger sister and me like we were the out casts of the family. We have always been close even though, my sister younger sister and I are biracial.
That’s what I would put in my books, I know of a lot of biracial people who don’t want to be biracial because they get treated different. I would write that it’s ok to be mixed, there is nothing to be ashamed of just because you’re different. Being different is the best type of person you can be. Being different is what changes the world. Being biracial is something to be proud of, there will always be people who treat you different, but you have to remember that being mixed you get experiences that not everyone gets.
In my books I would tell biracial people to be proud of themselves because they can do the same things as anyone else, and just because they are mixed doesn’t mean they are nothing. Being mixed is something to be proud of.
