Beauty: a word, a concept that changes an outlook- an opinion- then a heart, and finally, a life. The Beast: the evils, seemingly unable to be tamed, of this world. Domestic violence, trafficking, and familial abuse are some of the things that mar self esteem, cripple ability and crush hearts.
When skills such as floral design, business creation/management, fashion, and local services (battered women’s shelters, trafficking rescuing groups and case management services) combine, and the Beauty that changes one outlook…one opinion..one heart..and one life comes to fruition, an entire community can be changed, and at last, the Beast tamed.
I have set the goals to go to beauty school and then to join the staff on local efforts to fight abuse against women. I will be building clientele for my floral arranging skills and when I am able, I will open my own floral and gift boutique. After established, I will serve survivors of domestic violence, trafficking and familial abuse by teaching them new self esteem, job skills, and keeping them connected with case management, housing, and other resources. After completing the program needs, I will hire them into my shop and teach them further skills to become florists/business creators themselves, or to give them a firm foundation before they chase their own dreams, free of abuse.
