“Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.” Thomas Jefferson, 1787.
If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be teaching others to become passionate about agriculture. As the largest industry, agriculture will only become more important to our growing world. It is even more important, to have our future generations be passionate about it. They will be the ones soon to take over our world, all of the world’s problems, and to take care of us.
So it is up to us to teach our future the importance of agriculture, show them why we are passionate about it, and why they must keep it going.
And that is why I choose to become an agriscience educator. How would this change the world? By keeping our world going. Without agriculture, we have nothing. With it, we have everything we need to survive. By having people who are passionate about agriculture, we improve it. Without them, it will cease to exist.
So the goals I have to make this dream a reality?
1. Let every student I have know the importance of agriculture.
2. Show every student I have there is some place for them in agriculture.
3. Improve our world through agriculture, one student at a time.
Agriculture started with us, but we must choose to keep it going. I choose to keep it going, one student at a time.
