5 Must-Have Back-to-School Apps

March 20, 2019

Between school, music lessons, and other activities, September can feel like the busiest time of year! To cut down on your stress, here’s our list of the best back-to-school apps for parents and students. Let your smartphone or tablet be your personal assistant, and going back to school this year will be a breeze!

1. iHomework

This great app for students helps keep track of due dates, assignments, exam dates, and more across all your courses. iHomework is a great tool for busy students who need a little help staying on top of deadlines and figuring out how best to manage their time.

2. RetailMeNot

The mobile app from RetailMeNot finds coupons for you based on your location. For parents, this means you can find the best deals while back-to-school shopping without cutting coupons for hours. The app finds and displays coupons for you that the cashier at the store can scan at check-out, making saving on supplies easy and seamless.

3. Dictionary.com

This top-rated dictionary and thesaurus app from Dictionary.com turns any smartphone or tablet into a resource for students. Instead of lugging around heavy books, students can look up definitions or find synonyms in seconds on their mobile device.

4. Flashcards

This free app lets you create and share your own flashcards. Students or parents can easily input the material that needs to be studied, and the app will display and quiz students on their flashcards. Students can also share flashcards, which is great for study buddies!

5. Grades 2

Using Grades 2, students and parents can track test scores and calculate overall GPAs. Students can also use the app to determine what score they must get on a certain test in order to get a particular grade, which helps students set academic goals.

Of course, these back-to-school apps are just a starting point! Depending on which subjects you’re interested in, there are many subject-specific apps designed to help with learning foreign languages, complex equations, science, and history.
