About Lily

With a Masters in Music Performance from The Ohio State University, and an accredited Suzuki violin teacher from training program at The School for Strings, NYC. I have 6 years private teaching experience and 1 year group class teaching experience at Jefferson Academy at The Ohio State University. I am able to work with different ages of students with patience and passion.

*** Lesson Details ***
I use Suzuki violin books for beginners. In this series, I would like students to follow the order of each piece to build up their violin skill. I emphasize building a strong foundation of a good b
ody posture including bow-hold. For more advanced student, we can use Suzuki book 4 or above and other similar level repertoire to build up their musicality and the knowledge of each composer.

I've been teaching piano for 3 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to learn basic piano-playing posture and the basic knowledge on piano. As time goes on, you'll be able to reach to intermediate level. I typically use Faber piano book series.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Violin and music stand

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring my violin with me, students should have their own instruments (violin/piano) and a music stand (for violin students).

*** Specialties ***
I teach classical violin and piano.

Lily has been teaching violin to my 10 years old son for the past 10 months. We find her to be kind, patient, positive, and understanding. She is not overly strict nor critical, which fits well with my son's personality. She is mind-mannered so we do not feel pressure or discouraged when you are just learning and making mistakes. We are pleased with the progress my son has made in the past 10 months.

About Billy

I have been playing piano and guitar whilst performing for 8 years though I'm not short of experience. I went to Citrus College to perfect my guitar and piano playing and musicianship where I was moved to top of my class. I have been on tour with California's top cover group Night Shift going such places as Hawaii and numerous states for music festival performance and have been a hired musician for numerous groups for both recording and performing. I have musical knowledge in rock, blues, jazz, R&B, pop, salsa, reggae, funk, country, and many other genres. But enough about my knowledge. Let me
tell you about me: I love music. It's my passion and I've made a career out of what I do and love it. What I want to teach you are the skills that will allow you to continue to become more creative and precise but covering not only technique and theory, but why we choose certain things that sound and feel good and thus feeling beyond rewarded for what we've learned.

I'll cover soloing, learning chords, strumming, performing songs, learning songs, theory, technique, and multiple things you can come up with. And I promise I won't hit you with a ruler... We don't need a ruler for music anyways.

Ultimately, I feel lucky to be able to do what I do and I want to share it with you. That rhymes.

*** Lesson Details ***
I cover soloing, piano and guitar rhythms, learning chords, technique, theory, I do multiple genres as well and I do this all in a very progressive and interactive way that most of my students find fun and help the learning process. And I'm great with kids.

Hello, My name is Osmar Martinez.
If you are thinking on getting vocal lessons with Amy you will definitely won't regret it. I took lessons with Amy for 6 months. I was in need of vocal coaching due to big auditions I was going to have for several colleges' Musical Theatre programs (two of the best universities in Texas with Musical Theatre program to be exact) Abilene Christian University and Sam Houston State University. Amy helped me find my true voice and increase power into it. She has some great vocal tips with purpose of improving your singing. At first I thought online vocal lessons wouldn't work but at the end I was just glad I got to learn from her.
I apply every single tip she taught me into my daily vocal warmups and also into performing.
At the end I got accepted into both Universities. around 150 people audition for these schools and only 10 get accepted in each.
Now I am proud to announce that I will be attending a great school this coming fall starting my degree in Musical Theatre and even got a scholarship from the program. I thank Amy for her hard work, being part of this journey of auditioning for colleges with me and allowing me with great vocal coaching.

If I ever get a Tony I will mention Amy on my speech, Because of her now I am attending a great school to improve more than I already have with her.

I, myself, was a peer of Mike's at the University of Redlands. We both studied jazz guitar performance and have performed together on multiple occasions. Even so, Mike's ability as a performer far surpassed any of his colleagues'. In fact, his capabilities on the guitar were so outstanding that I decided that I would take lessons with him, in addition to regular lessons with my school instructor. To my surprise, the only thing better than listening to Mike's playing was his ability to transfer his knowledge to others.

His lessons are always conducted in a professional and friendly manner. I always left with a deeper understanding of music and as an improved player.

He is well versed in many styles and his professional experience as a musician is something to be sought after when looking for a guitar teacher. His understanding of the instrument and music theory will ensure that whatever questions you may have, he will know the answer. No matter where your skill level is, there will always be something to learn from this man.

Before I started taking lessons with Mike I was able to play the guitar but wasn't very experienced. Mike and I set a plan for myself that I would enjoy but also get me to be able to play what I wanted to play. He even helped me through some of my music classes at my college (Music Theory, Musicianship, Jazz, etc.) and taught me to apply what I was learning to the guitar. He taught me how to read music, play blues and jazz, and overall become a better musician.

He was challenging but made it overall fun and exciting. Whenever I ran into a problem he was able to break it down and figure out what I needed to do to get over it.

He is a great teacher and I am really grateful I started taking lessons with mike. I strongly recommend him; whether you have just started out and just want to learn or an experienced musician trying to get better, he will help you get there.
