I have been playing and teaching oboe for over 35 years. Many of my students have gone on to play in universities with scholarships, but more importantly have developed a love of music. I was the founder and co-artistic director of an award winning chamber group having two on-going subscription series. Within the first few lessons you will be able to read musical notation, understand basic music theory, and play simple songs. Depending on your ability, I will choose the right method book for you. I love working with students of all ages and can't wait to meet you!
My teaching style is relaxed, but highly structured. My former students made great advancements with my guidance. However, no advancement can be achieved without the student putting in the necessary time at home to practice their instrument.

About Jill

I have been a professional musician for over 40 years and have taught beginning piano and oboe privately and in group classes. As of March 2021, I am fully vaccinated and have allowed students to come back into my studio who are vaccinated. Upon entering my studio you will be required to remove sho

I have always wanted to learn to play the piano but just never took the time to find a teacher. I tried self study and watching videos but it just wasn’t doing the trick. I’ve been getting lessons from Morgan for a while now and it has been AWESOME! He’s super passionate about music so any questions you ask gets him even more excited to teach! I went from not knowing ANYTHING about playing piano to being able to play a song that I have always wanted to learn to play! Morgan is able to integrate learning foundational piano playing with playing your favorite songs. I would HIGHLY recommend Morgan if you want to learn to play piano!

Morgan has done an outstanding job tutoring our 13 year old this year on the piano! He’s trusting, reliable and consistent with his lessons and philosophies. Our son connects with him personally and also has learned a tremendous amount in a short time! We’re looking forward to him advancing in piano and then moving onto guitar. Morgan is brilliant in both arenas and a pleasure to have in our home. Highly recommended!

I've been teaching piano for over 10 years and my students have gone on to play professionally, become teachers themselves, and develop a love of music. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play fun simple songs at the piano. and as time goes on you'll be able to read musical notation, understand basic music theory, and play classical or contemporary pieces. "I am very excited about my singing lessons with Cyndi. Having never taken
singing lessons before, I went in nervous, not knowing what to expect.
Cyndi put me at ease from the start though. She exudes kindness, patience,
and encouragement, which are all things I really appreciate in a teacher.
She is well knowledgeable and although she is very professional, she never
makes the lesson feel like it is just a job to her. It’s obvious that Cyndi
not only loves what she does, but really puts her care into her students. I
especially love her thoroughness and astuteness to every minute point on my
note accuracy. She is a huge blessing, and I couldn’t be happier with her.
Looove her!"

"Kelvin is a phenomenal teacher of classical guitar. Our teenage son wanted to take classical lessons for a while, after having happily done a couple years with School of Rock. He and Kelvin meshed well, and I feel our son learned a lot over the course of a couple more years.

When one of us had a schedule conflict, we had the ability to do a lesson via Skype. Let me tell you, that came in mighty handy in the winter of 2019.

Schedule with Kelvin; I am certain you'll be glad that you did."

"Excellent teacher!

I really enjoy my lessons with Jill! I played violin as a child, but it's been a long time. Jill is very patient and creative - if there's something I'm having trouble with, she'll come up with alternative ways for me to learn it. She expects her students to practice, which is helpful for me because otherwise I tend to procrastinate. I really like getting better and being able to learn new, more challenging pieces. I'm also interested in music theory and music history, and Jill has been great about answering all of my questions and giving me the history about the composers, musicians, and pieces I'm learning. Jill makes the lessons fun, and the time flies by!"

"Milton is hands down AMAZING! :)

I've been with Milton for about almost a year already and he is just amazing! In the beginning I was very nervous to take singing lessons but Milton came in with a positive attitude. Milton is very friendly, funny, professional and always enthusiastic when asking questions about music. I use to be very shy, "never want to sing in front of people" type of girl, but ever since I started lessons with him, I sing all the time in front of people, starting to perform on stage, built A LOT of confidence, and found what type of musician I am. All the things he teaches me is VERY USEFUL, I apply everything we learn to my music and it has made a huge difference. I've come to learn that the tiniest things count! I highly recommend him and you'll have the best time!"

"My 13 year old granddaughter just finished her 1st year of viola at school in June 2014 and she wanted to take summer lessons to stay sharp. There were a lot of teachers available within a 10-15 minute drive, but after trying other teachers, we chose Mark (a 30 minute drive ) because, as others have commented, he is extremely patient and teaches by correcting, not criticizing. He simply has a gift for teaching. I have never regretted the extra drive. Once you've had a lesson with him, you won't want to go to anyone else."
