Hello future cello students -- welcome!!
My students should expect a well-rounded education on cello involving technical studies, playing in a variety of styles including, playing solo works, and having a great time!
About Nicolas
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Miami, FL. I started my musical career at the age of 8, singing in chorus, playing the recorder, and shortly afterwards moving to the guitar, and the violin.
When I was 15, I was nominated for a James L. Knight Award in Music, and I performed as a violin soloist with the Miami Beach Symphony Orchestra, and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major. One of my most memorable experiences when I was a kid! In high school, I formed my own string quartet and we would perform all over the South Florida community especially at hospitals and for the elderly. At 16 years old, I was also given an internship with the New World Symphony, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, for about 2
I later on accepted a scholarship for violin performance at the University of Miami for my Bachelor of Music, and earned my Master of Music from Florida State University. I also taught string orchestras for 10 years at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, South Florida Youth Symphony as conductor (and now composer!), and conductor of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. I was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Alhambra Orchestra for two seasons under the guidance of my high school orchestra teacher, Mr. Reginald Nicholson (1947-2011). It was here where I was able to work on my compositions, orchestrations, and conduct a fine group of musicians.
I now live in sunny Los Angeles, in the Sherman Oaks area, and I'm loving the new change. I am eager to share my knowledge with new students on various subjects such as learning a string instrument to learning a different language. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your goals for learning!

LESSON DETAILS
I have been teaching music as an adult, certified teacher since I was in college, but have done teaching as early as 15 years old.
I will help you create a fantastic technical base so you will be able to play with ease as your skill level develops, all while keeping the lessons fun and engaging.
MUSIC STUDIO
Piano, Violin, Guitar, Music Stand, General Teaching Aids, Recording Equipment.
TRAVEL EQUIPMENT
I can provide a music stand and basic materials but the student is expected to have their own instruments and to buy the music I recommend. I can recommend various vendors/shops where you can buy the ideal instrument for your lessons.
EXPERTISE
I am classically-trained musician that also specializes in Tango performance, Latin/Jazz, Rock, and a variety of other styles. I believe that training in the classical aesthetic will create a firm, solid foundation to crossover into other areas listed above. With a good dose of technical exercises, scales, and a variety of repertoire, my students always turn out well-rounded, ready to tackle almost any kind of music they wish to learn.
Thank you for stopping by and let me know what you would like to learn!

*** Lesson Details ***
I make my lessons fun and informative and have had many students stay with me for up to 7 years. I show you everything you will ever need to know about music theory but in a very useful applicable way. I teach popular songs from any artist and classics that have stood the test of time and show you how to become a great song writer of your own giving you an insider’s knowledge about how to perform and have the audience standing asking for more. No matter if you want to become a pro lead guitar player or just play to have fun I can show you how to sing and play the guitar or piano at the same time or singing songs from church as well as your favorite rock or pop songs with confidence.
*** Travel Equipment ***
Just my own guitar and amp they need their own equipment.
*** Specialties ***
Classical, flamenco, rock, heavy metal guitar. I have also developed new classical guitar techniques that I call the "trem" stroke and the "harpeggio"

I am a string specialist. That means I teach and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano. I earned B.A. earned from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley Colorado where I was a double major in classical guitar and double bass. In my senior year I was the recipient of the Annual Concerto Contest where I performed the "Concerto in A Major" on double bass with the University orchestra for the spring concert. I have played in both professional and semi-professional orchestras in Colorado and Arizona. I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. I notate it for them, often simplifying the rhythm and chords in Finale NotePad and give it to them free of charge. I teach students how to play music on their given instrument. Not just how to play the instrument but working on ...

About Jorge M.
CloseHi there! I'm Jorge Maresch, a bay area freelance cellist and music coach. My specialty is in chamber music; an intimate setting of musicians. I earned my BM and MM from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, have been teaching the art of cello for people from all walks of life for over 10 years.
I can't wait to teach you the wonders of learning and playing music. My teaching methods are always modified for the individual's body, and I encourage self exploration of the body and mind to achieve musical goals. Through self love of the body, we find and acknowledge the limits, and then find ways to overcome technique. Learning music has a different meaning for everyone, and I aspire to guide you in your journey. For the younger students, my fundamental purposes are to guide them on 'how to learn, by observing the present' and guide them with their reasoning process for better practice (not only applied to cello).

Before lessons begin, a short interview process is required to take note of the student's musical background and goals / as well as the parents' needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any questions! Thank you, I cannot wait to work with you!

My goal is to help you become the cellist you want to be! I am excited to teach students of all levels. I believe a core foundation in classical technique is the key to success, and I emphasize that in my teaching. With that said, I love exploring other genres such as pop and folk. Let's make music together!
About Julia
My main goal is to create a fun, engaging, encouraging and inspiring relationship with my students. I often play alongside my students during lessons to create a more comfortable atmosphere, as well as allowing me to demonstrate whatever it is I am trying to teach. At times in my cello studies, I found practicing to be difficult because I wasn't playing repertoire I wanted to play, rather, playing only what my teacher felt was best. I have taken those personal
At this point in my career, I am most passionate about chamber music. I find when I'm playing alongside other musicians, I feel the most comfortable and can express myself openly. As a chamber music coach, I strive to help a group connect, both as musicians and as people, so they can perform passionately and experience all of the fun that small ensemble music has to offer.
Let me help you become the musician YOU want to be! I look forward to making music with you.

About Debra
I am very laid back and try to make lessons as fun and stress free as possible. I am classically trained and know a great deal of music history, which helps to understand the music. I will challenge you, but I will make it fun in the process!
I like to let students choose something to work on, outside of their lesson material, so that they are able to play something entertaining and that holds their interest. I am definitely not the average classical musician.
