I want to help you find your voice and express yourself -- to SHINE and have a lot of fun in the process! I'd like to pass along some of my expertise and knowledge to you. I've been a performing vocalist all my life, with formal training beginning in high school, continuing into college and into my career as a professional musician. I have "stage" experience (choral, broadway musicals, opera) AND experience in the "band" arena, performing vocals and/or bass guitar and guitar for rock, pop, R&B and jazz gigs.

About Robert
Hey there! I've been performing music for as long as I can remember, and performing professionally for over 30 years. I have formal training and 12 years of teaching experience. I teach with positivity, patience, and perseverance and help you express the music in you!

*** Lesson Details ***
All of my lessons are customized to your needs, preferences and goals. No matter what instrument or skill level, I'll take you through the basics and help you build solid practicing fundamentals. I'll also help you develop your performance and, depending on how serious you'd like to get, I can also teach you to read music and learn music theory as well! I balance learning and technical skill with fun and self-expression.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a dedicated music room, stocked with guitars, basses, and practice amp, keyboard and co
mputers with recording software.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Keyboard, practice amp, and/or instrument cords. I expect the student to provide his/her own instrument, and prefer they have an amplifier for electric instruments.

*** Specialties ***
I teach in all genres, but have experience in rock, alternative, pop, jazz, and even music theater.

He is a very patient teacher. And he's very flexible on his schedule by moving our schedule to an earlier time because we had a prior engagement in the afternoon. And most of all, my daughter now knows the basics and we will most likely contact him again in case we decide to continue guitar lessons.

Classical, Folk Pop, Jazz, Musical Theater--Legit

About Carolyn
I am an experienced voice and piano teacher with 25 + years of teaching experience.

I am passionate about teaching, and my experience includes teaching voice and piano to elementary through college students, in academic settings and in my home. I love working with people of all ages.

As a soprano, I have performed as soloist in recitals and concerts throughout the US, and have sung professionally with many choral ensembles. I have appeared in musical theater and opera productions in leading roles. I have also been a college choir director and voice teacher.

In addition, I have performed as piano soloist in various settings, and piano accompanist for choirs, singers and instrumentalists in church, contest and concerts.

Recently, I earned my Doctorate in Music from Arizona State University.

My studio is where I share m
y expertise and passion for music with private voice and piano students. My approach is that music should be fun and satisfying. I want students to have the enjoyment of accomplishing great things, and build on their natural abilities and love of music. I look forward to meeting you, and seeing where your musical talents can take you!

*** Lesson Details ***
Each voice lesson begins with a warm up: movement:, stretches, breathing, and relaxation while focusing on good posture. Following that we continue warming up the voice with appropriate vocal exercises. If desired, we can spend time sight singing (reading music). Then we will turn to your chosen piece(s) of music. You could bring in a song or aria of your interest, or I could suggest pieces that I feel suit your voice. Some areas that I like to focus on in are relaxation, posture, breathing, support, use of registers, placement, growing your voice in size and range, intonation (pitch), tone color, clarity and consistency. My ultimate goal is to help students sing with musicality and expressiveness.

For piano, we may begin by working on things like hand position, posture, relaxation of the body and then exercises, including scales and chords. We may also incorporate music theory.
After a warm-up, we will focus on chosen music. I like to use music literature that is appropriate to the student's level, which gives enjoyment, and also increases breadth of knowledge and expertise. For beginning students, there are many good series available that I like to use, such as Bastian or Alfred.

Its very important that students feel comfortable in their lessons. I am sensitive, flexible and open to individual likes and dislikes, and any thoughts or concerns you have. These are your lessons and I am committed to helping you get the most out of them!

*** Studio Equipment ***
lessons in large living room with upright piano, mirrors; space for parents to sit/wait; repertoire

*** Specialties ***
Opera, classical, musical theater

d perform with ease.

Performance anxiety can be overcome. Using the tools that Ginni has developed, students relax, focus and enjoy their performing experience.

Reading music is important for pianists and singers. Ginni helps beginning through advanced students to more fully understand written music and quickly sight read it.

It’s important to perform songs that you enjoy. Students help choose supplemental songs that they love whether that be contemporary pop, traditional classical, Broadway, jazz, country or any other genre that they would like to learn.

Ginni’s piano and singing students increase their range, power, agility, control, confidence and expressiveness through technical exercises, scales, arpeggios, applying technique and lots of encouragement! Students grow the more that they share their talents. Students of Ginni’s are invited to participate in recitals, the Arizona Study Program and are guided through auditions, solo and ensemble performances.

Ginni uses the latest technology to help her students, whether by finding a song online for a student to listen to and learn from, transposing a piece on keyboard, improving the sound of an iphone song by plugging it into a speaker system or by using a mic to learn microphone technique.

A century old stand up piano may not be cutting edge technology but, Ginni’s sounds beautiful and her students enjoy playing it. Music is such a gift. So is participating in and watching the growth and progression of others.

Ginni asks her students to remember three things:
Try, Relax and Have Fun!

Our experience with Ms. Ginni was wonderful! She started teaching voice lessons to my daughter and then my son, but soon after I realized that I wanted lessons from her too! She transitioned brilliantly from teaching my kids on their level, to teaching me at an adult level. She gave me tips and instruction that changed the way I sing and gave me confidence to sing in smaller groups and even a couple of solos! My children also enjoyed their lessons because Ms. Ginni always had something positive to say about their work and then would get into constructive feedback of where to make adjustments and improvements. She is very patient, kind and caring and extremely devoted to her students.

Singing, dancing, performing, artistic expression in any medium ... all are fantastic ways to share yourself with others, express your personality, offer something to the world, relieve stress, sleep better, find the person of your dreams.

Singing should be fun, exciting, interesting. Sure there will be days where you're frustrated or irritated or just plain don't want to do anything and I understand those days.

About Frances
Hullo! I'm Frances and I've been teaching private voice lessons since 2008. In the past my students have been cast in roles in high school and community theater, they have participated in Regional Choir, and auditioned successfully for collegiate music programs.

I received my training at Belmont University, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Classical Vocal Performance. After teaching privately and auditioning for a few years I realized I wanted to return to school so I could be better equipped to teach. I spent two years at ASU refining my own voice while experiencing new teaching techniques. I finished my advanced degree in May, 2016 and now have a Master of Music: Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.

I believe in a relaxed atmosphere for lessons and that if you're not having fun overall then something needs to change. Strengthening
the voice through proper, healthy technique will be challenging but should also be enjoyable.

Frances trained me for 5 years in both Broadway voice and Classical voice. She adapted her teaching to work with my strengths and weaknesses and knew exactly what I needed whether I was singing a piece for church or a production that I was in. In addition to adapting her teaching style she also always knew which songs were appropriate for my voice style and which songs I should learn in order to push myself and grow. Not only does she know her stuff but lessons are full of laughter and they are one of the most enjoyable parts of learning to sing.

She's great to work with, pushes you to be the best that you can be,and knows her stuff! I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a voice teacher.

Frances is one of the most qualified voice teachers in the greater Phoenix valley. You can stop considering any other voice teacher options right now. In addition to being an impressive and award-winning singer in both operatic and musical theatre genres, she is an excellent pedagogue who has studied the anatomy and physiology of the human voice with qualified professors at ASU. Her application of both her experience and knowledge is immensely helpful and her teaching is clear, direct, friendly, and focused. As someone who has worked with vocal professors at numerous universities on the east coast, vocal coaches on touring Broadway shows, as a choir director, and as a chorus master of operas, believe me when I say that Frances is one of the best and most qualified voice teachers I've encountered. It can be unhealthy to study with someone less qualified and experienced as Frances is. She's also wonderfully grounded, non-pretentious, and has a great sense of humor. She has my highest recommendation as a voice teacher (not something I've said before in my 17+ years of being a professional musician.) Choosing to study voice with her will be one of the best and healthiest choices you can make for your voice.

I focus on helping each vocalist maximize their potential as a singer. It is extremely important to develop an understanding of vocal control, feel, rhythm, timing and confidence. Having strong musical ears is just as important as being a vocalist/ musician. It does not matter if someone is a beginner or expert, there can always be room for growth. I welcome all students that are serious about improving, regardless of their level as a vocalist. Lets get to work and have fun :)

About Matt
I originally grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since the age of 14, I have been traveling back and forth from Los Angeles. During my time in Los Angeles, I would spend most of my days in major music studios, working with a variety of Signed and Unsigned artists; learning songwriting, producing, arranging and vocal coaching. In 2012, I received a degree from Los Angeles School of Music in Vocal Coaching, Music Business, and Production. As of recently, a passion of mine is helping students become successful as vocalists. My focus is on technique, tone, pitch, building a deeper understanding of what's happening musically, ear/listening development, and confidence.I make sure my lessons are FUN and proactive with Tons of growth in each student. Remember, 77 percent of singing is MENTAL. Whether you want to be a professional singer, or sing f
or fun, I'm the teacher to help you achieve those goals!

I also have a desired background in life coaching and health and wellness. Understanding how powerful the mind and body is, can be extremely rewarding. Meditation, stretching, diet, mental stability and control, confidence, fulfillment, etc.. is by far my favorite subject to help individuals with.
