I have been teaching string instruments professionally for over 11 years, and I specialize in the violin. Students of all ages are welcome! Lessons are tailored to each student's interests and learning styles. You will be playing music that you love in no time!

As an experienced teacher of 3 years in violin performance, I can help you improve your violin playing, no matter what your currently level of playing is. Flexibility and comfort is key to my teaching style. I work to your speed and help you improve with specific exercises and advice tailored to your abilities.

I earned my Bachelors degree in violin performance, and an continuing my studies at the Peabody Institute. My past and current teachers include: Irving Ludwig (Philadelphia Orchestra), Juliette Kang (associate concertmaster of Philadelphia Orchestra), and Qing Li (principal 2nd violin of Baltimore Symphony Orchestra).

I have been teaching beginners and intermediate students for two years. My goal with beginning students is, through games and simple repertoire, to develop a solid technical foundation and an understanding of how to produce a good sound on the instrument. Anyone can play violin or viola!
With intermediate students, my goal is to continue to develop musical maturity, and build a platform beneath them so that if they want to pursue professional career, they can shoot for the moon.

I have been playing violin since kindergarten, and I have experiences in teaching beginner students at SUNY Albany campus and I absolutely loved it! Music Performance was one of my majors of my undergraduate degrees, and I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to perform a solo piece, Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in my senior year. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program for Intercultural Communication & English language education. Teaching has been one of my long-lasting passions and I am more than happy to work with various levels of violin learners. Hope to hear from you soon!!

By observing, hypothesizing, deducting, and problem-solving, my students will gain the skills needed not only to succeed in music, but also in every stage of life. I offer both lessons and coachings, in which we will cover violin technique (intonation, sound, phrasing, musicality, performance technique, audition preparation, etc.), and basic music theory (musical forms, rhythm, compositional techniques, etc.)
