I’ll teach form, technique, air support, embouchure strengthening, mouthpiece placement, recommend instrument makers or companies. I tailor the lessons to the goals and needs of the students; not a cookie cutter format
I don’t use a cookie cutter pattern for students but base it on each students needs, weaknesses & strengths. How to breath, embouchure strengthening, positioning, rhythm & theory, practice routines, goals, instrument & mouthpiece recommendations. I keep it flexible so the student is comfortable.
Bachelor Of Music Magna Cum Laude from Berklee School Of Music
Awarded Grand Prize Winner from Meridian Records
There are so many styles of blues to choose from and in our class we will touch on the ones that especially interest the student.
Starting with the basics (learning notes, chords, rhythms, techniques and scales) we will also be learning different picking and strumming techniques, playing slide, learning songs and soloing.
Hi! My name is Karen D. I’ve had the pleasure of performing, singing, writing, and recording since I was seven years old. Besides being an Honor Graduate of Berklee School of Music, I have been a lifelong student of the international world-renowned instructors Dante Pavone and Charlie Banacos.
She didn't have one, so she could never demonstrate anything I asked about. She didn't know the key layout. She didn't know the conventions for numbering fingers. She didn't know the basic home key scale pattern.
I waited until I'd finished four classes with my new teacher before writing this so I'd have a good basis for comparison. He is immensely better at teaching this than she was. It further convinced me that she never should have represented herself as competent to teach this particular instrument.

Hi, I'm Katie! I'm a trombonist and music teacher currently based in New Hampshire and I work with students of all ages and abilities, from young beginners to adults and advanced students. I plan my lessons and create my own materials specially to fit each student's specific needs and goals. While learning an instrument is a worthy endeavor on its own, I also work with my students to hone important life and study skills that they can also apply to other aspects of their lives and education - not to mention having fun making music! Confidence, problem solving, and setting and working towards goals are just some of the skills I work to impart on my students.
Feel free to send me a message if you're interested in setting up a lesson or if you have any questions :)

I've performed on Broadway, in National Tours, in Regional Theatre and on Cruiseships. I've been teaching for 20 years and my students have landed recording contracts, roles in Matilda on Broadway, Kinky Boots National Tour, Les Miserables National Tour and one student performed 2 seasons ago on NBC's The Voice. I help every student discover the power of their voice in a healthy way. No "shouting" when they sing. I specialize in audition coaching for Broadway and shows like The Voice as well as for musical theatre scholarships as I'm also a veteran actor. If you check out AcaPop Kids on YouTube, you'll see two of my students performing.
I've been teaching people to sing for 20 years. I myself have worked on Broadway, in national tours, in regional theatre and on cruiseships for Carnival and Royal Caribbean. I also have a home recording studio where I've recorded myself and other singers for several independent record labels. Beca

Adaptive, Responsive Approach: From the beginning of our classes, Phillipe made it clear that we would target my unique learning needs. He then proposed a process to ensure that I provided him with critical feedback (every few lessons) so that he could adjust course.
This approach ensured that we maintained a common understanding of how I learned best and what areas we would target each week.
Turbo-Charged Vocabulary: Having worked in private sector and government, I was grateful that Phillipe helped expand my vocabulary in the domains of economics, history, social science, and regulation/public policy. (I have found that other French professors often struggle with the business/professional vocabulary that I need to used on a daily basis.)
A PRO for most, Phillipe did not get bogged down in grammar drills or exercises. Instead he takes the approach that worked the best for me -- to speak, correct, and speak, speak, speak."

Mixing up your tu's and vous? Let French tutor Carol Beth L. break it down for you... As modern-day English speakers, most of us are accustomed to using only one word for “you.” It doesn't matter if we are talking to one person, many people, old people, young people, teachers, doctors, children, or anyone else. In some languages, this is not always the case – and French is one of them. French grammar provides French-speakers with two ways to say “you”: “tu” (pronounce it almost l …
