Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.

I tutor high school and college students, and help them get ahead of the program and stand out from their peers in subjects such as chemistry (first year and organic), mathematics (algebra, calculus, vector calculus, and differential equations), physics (classical Newtonian, modern, and electromagnetism), and English essay writing skills.
About Julia
My instruction extends nationwide, with students from all corners of the US, utilizing online tutoring services such as Skype.
My main field of study is in MATH (trig, algebra, geometry, precalculus), CHEMISTRY (high school and college), and PHYSICS (high school and college).
I completed my Bachelors in Physics and Mathematics Education at Hunter University and have gained experience with both in-person and online group instruction and curriculum development.
Some examples of the students I have tutored are: Elementary school students preparing for State competitions and exams; High school and College students in preparance for entrance exams, and in subjects such as algebra, geom
I do Regents and SAT/ACT prep for these subjects as well as the GRE (These are NYS based High School Preparatory Exams - do not hesitate to ask should you need assistance with the ones offered in your state/country).
In addition, I am thorough and meticulous, by paying special attention to how the student grasps information and retains it, I prepare individualized handwritten reviews, with supplemental material found online and in texts.
I assign homework to keep my students ahead of what is going on in class, and a visual and intuitive understanding of the concepts I present is important to me, so I use visual aids (diagrams and interactive models) to help my students integrate what they learn with me in real life situations.
My instruction includes:
1. Tutoring based on the school curriculum
2. Instruction on the home-schooling curriculum
3. Assisting those with a gap in going back to school/university.
I start with an assessment based on what the student has trouble with or last remembers covering in school, and prepare material going from there.
As a result, my students all have improved grades without any need for cramming before tests, and I encourage a stress-free and easygoing learning environment.
My lessons are fun and enthusiastic - these subjects are beautiful and will help open your mind to new ways of thinking - whatever your field of study!

I see marked improvements in their grades for this past year, and my eldest is actually skipping fourth grade as a result of lessons. I am astounded as to my girls' progress, and greatly appreciative of our tutor's expertise.
Her patient, methodical approach to teaching is why I see us remaining with her for all of our educational instruction. She has already taught arithmetic to my youngest (3rd grade), and algebra to my eldest (starting 5th this sept!), and is proceeding with more advanced math with no issue whatsoever. I cannot recommend her enough.

I hold this course dear to me, as it --and amazing teachers!-- ignited my passion for the physical sciences. Just halfway through high school, I decided this was to be my path for university studies and didn't look back.
I loved this subject from the time it was formally introduced to me as a high school sophomore in general chemistry, from acids and bases to stoichiometry and molecular structures. I continued by taking AP Chemistry during 11th grade (Junior) year of HS and maintained the highest grade in my class. I received a 5 on my AP exam. I continued onto several semesters of university level Chemistry courses, into upper division Organic Chemistry.

I specialize in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and standardized test preparation, but am also available as a general supplemental education provider for any and all subjects with which I have sufficient experience. I like to build a strong connection with my students and their parents, offering not only supplemental education, but also mentorship and academic advisement. I have worked with many families during the planning stages of transition from middle school to high school and high school to university, helping plan a solid academic structure for the student that will guarantee success.
I am available for last-minute tutoring (e.g. studying for a final exam), short-term tutoring solutions (e.g. standardized test preparation), as well as long-term instruction on a regular basis for students with ongoing needs.

In essence, chemistry is the study of the change. And ultimately, these 'changes' are those that occur at the atomic level of our famous chemical elements; how they interact with each other, how they behave, and most importantly, how we can manipulate them to do amazing things. From synthesizing addition polymers like HDPE to solving for the internal energy of an expanding balloon. I focus on the foundations of chemistry by highlighting the keystone aspects that define its very nature. I take pertinent concepts from introductory chemistry, such as the periodic table of the elements and the SI unit system, and dissolve them into parcels of data that can easily be memorized, and that can be effectively recalled when you tackle the enigmatic units of chemistry that dazzle most students. I then offer meticulous and in depth explanations for the most daunting problems that plague chemistry. With me as your tutor, you will enter your chemistry lectures/classes with unparalleled confidence ...

I have lived in over 20 countries, which allowed me to speak several languages, and which permitted me to maintain my patience, élan and spirit of enthusiasm when dealing with even the most extreme personalities. I have solid background in both math and the natural sciences, as I have consistently maintained a 4.0 G.P.A since high school. I am now studying mechanical engineering at IIT, and I have gotten 5s in all of my AP Chemistry, AP Physics and AP Biology exams. I have also been the winner of many STEM-related competitions, through my demonstrating of exemplary leadership qualities and through my brainstorming of blue-sky ideas. I am also a "Mental-Math" practitioner, reflexologist and guitarist. I believe that everyone has potential; however potential is worthless unless put in motion. Chemistry is both fun and fascinating, which is lucky because it's a really important prerequesite. I've completed four semesters of Chemistry at Harvard as part of the Pre-Med curriculum - General Chem I & II, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
About Simeon
I currently attend Harvard University and work as a professional writer and tutor. I've lived all over the United States, although I grew up in Scotland of all places. My scores on the SAT and ACT were perfect (1600 and 36 respectively), though I too had to work hard to get there, so I know what it's like when you're just starting out.
Over the years, I've worked with students suffering from ADD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, speech disorders, and depression; I personally grew up inured to social anxiety, so I can always empathize.
Some tutors will tell you that they know all the tricks and shortcuts. But really, there are no tricks. No shortcuts. Just hard work and sleepless nights and talking to yourself while brushing your teeth in the morning
*****************************************************
I have a decade of experience and a vast collection of study materials that I can share with you for free. I've had the privilege to help hundreds of students with everything from college applications and essays to Creative Writing and Calculus, not to mention the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, ASVAB, and AP and SAT II subject tests, like Literature, Statistics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as well.
I absolutely love writing, of course, so I can teach you how to write an action scene or listen to a poem.

After a few more months of working with Simeon, I got to the point where I was consistently scoring in the 33-34 Composite range and thus decided to take the official exam. The result: a 33 Composite (36 E 34 M 33 R 27 S (I more or less just ran out of steam toward the end))!
I couldn't recommend Simeon or his approach any more if I tried! Initially, I struggled with Math and Science more than anything else. However, Simeon was able to explain Math concepts in a way that were able to stick. And the Science strategies he equipped me with helped me fly through the section, improving my score dramatically (I went from making a 21 on Science to making a 34 -- I didn't do my best with Science on test day, but that one's on me).
As a perfect ACT scorer and Harvard grad, Simeon is able to explain literally every single ACT concept in a clear and concise way to help his students best understand the material. If you're looking to supercharge your ACT score, look no further than Simeon! Not to mention, he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I will forever be in debt to him and all of his incredible help!

~~~~~~~~~~~ My Personal Message to You ~~~~~~~~~~~
One of the wisest teachers once said that poor grades, study habits, and test scores are not life-threatening, but they are college-, job- , career-, and quality-of-life threatening. The most competitive students take a pro-active approaching to academics and tutoring while the least competitive take a reactive approach. All you need to do is watching the documentary 'Two Million Minutes' by Bob Compton to realize why students in other countries such as India and China surpass American peers in almost every subject, especially language (writing, grammar, etc.), math, science, and engineering-related subjects. They attend extra classes and tutoring from 6-7 AM in the morning to almost midnight.
In today's fast-paced and competitive job market, there is simply too much to lose by not investing now in your child's or your education. If a student is struggling, it makes sense to get him/her the help needed so that the time spent in school is worthwhile. Great grades and test scores can open doors that may have been previously closed and are also significant factors when determining scholarships, so investing time and effort now can pay off substantially in the future. Finally, let's not forget the most important part in all of this: the student. The confidence, knowledge, and skills that a student gains through effective tutoring can last a lifetime.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch. Every day spent waiting is another class or lecture's worth of material that you might potentially fall behind or another low quiz/test/exam score that will only make it harder to recover from. I have had too many students who could have received the grade(s) they wanted had they contacted me from the beginning.
Got my B.A. in Biochemistry a year ago, and during high school I conducted research in a lab and competed in several international science fairs in addition to taking AP chemistry. I also tutored and lab assisted for general chemistry, biochemistry, and organic chemistry, in college, and I love teaching and sharing my knowledge and understanding with others!
About Sarina
In addition to science, I also love music and traveling. I studied piano for about 12 years and taught a few beginning piano lessons several years ago. During college I studied abroad in South Africa for a semester, and while I was there I also worked with a small local tutoring company, helping grade school and middle school age children prepare for their science and math exams.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, however I feel like high school and college level chemistry and biology is what I have the greatest base of knowledge and experience in. I especially love AP chemistry and college level general chemistry.
If you take lessons or get tutoring from me, I will teach in a very straight forward, big picture oriented, clear, and easy to understand way. I look foward to working with you!
I've been tutoring students in Chemistry at both a high school and college level for 4 years now. I have helped many college students jump from Cs to As in their introductory chemistry courses over the years. Although my major is in Molecular Cell Biology, the majority of my courses are Chemistry based. I am also certified to teach high school chemistry through the TExES teacher qualification exam. My philosophy is teaching you how to approach each problem rather than simply giving you a straight answer. My goal is to help you see the patterns between different questions and help you develop a solid strategy for each type of question you approach.
About Nicholas
I graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley in 20
I have over 1000 hours of tutoring and teaching experience, and am comfortable with Math, Physics, Chemistry, Writing, English, French, ACT, and SAT. My only policy is that you do not simply ask me for the answer, but rather help me help you through questions. A big part of your college career is that you find yourself not being able to ask the right questions to guide you to the answer, and I want to be here to help you learn that skill. I will help walk you through all the steps of the problem and clarify the theory along the way so that you can gain mastery of the material. However, if you are simply asking for someone who will give you a quick answer without a thorough explanation, please seek another tutor.
I can tutor ACT Math, ACT English, ACT Reading, ACT Writing, ACT Science, SAT Math, SAT Writing, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Biostatistics, Statistics, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC/AB, Introduction to College Calculus, Probability, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Introduction to College Physics, and Introduction to College Chemistry. I also have extensive experience with college admissions guidance and organization & study skills.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you master the topics you are studying!
