Acrylic Painting Lessons in Higley. Amazing Teachers.

The lessons will be based on the skill level of the student. We will paint from observation as well as from photographs. Art History will be incorporated and we will study the paintings of the masters. In the students paintings, focus will be on perspective, color, composition, and accuracy in proportions.

I have been a professional oil painter for 36 years and have taught oil and acrylic painting classes fro over a decade. I teach a casual, fun but serious style class. My goal is to teach the basics of creating a simple strong painting in a semi realistic style. However, my goal is to allow the student to develop their own individual style. Understanding the creative process is also key to making good art.

Experienced teacher specializing in beginner/ Intermediate painting student. I have experience painting for last 15 years and have won multiple awards. My lessons plans are customized according to individual needs and goals. All ages welcome. Students can expect to focus on learning a good foundation. I am familiar with several different approaches when working with acrylic paints. They include but are not limited to; direct painting, graphic approach, building up of layers using glazes and dry brushing. I also sensitive to the surfaces acrylic is used on; paper, canvas, fabric, metal and wood are just a few.

A Complete List of Painting Supplies that every Acrylic Painter needs

1. Acrylic Paints. Ex: Golden Classic Theory Color, a-z Acrylics, Liquitex [brands]

2. Proper Painting Brushes [I‘d suggest six total in a range of sizes: two size 2 brushes, two size 6 brushes, and two size 12 brushes. One of each pair should be a flat brush (with a squared-off brush tip) and the other should be a filbert brush (with a slightly rounded tip).

3. Newspaper
