About Monica
As certified music teacher in three states and over 30 years of music experience, I am comfortable with students of all ages in developing their musicianship and love of musical expression. Playing semi-professionally since the age of 16, my performance background includes symphony orchestra, mariachi, acoustic rock, chorus (alto), and various small ensembles.
My overarching goal is to share the benefit of a lifetime of experience with my students so that they will find their own 'voice' in the wide world of music.

As a certified 1st through 8th grade mathematics educator, I have over 400 seat-hours in specialized 6th through 8th grade training including pedagogy, best-practices, identifying misconceptions, and developing formative assessments. In addition to training, I have worked as an instructional specialist through the alignment
and authoring of curriculum in private industry and public education. I am a recognized leader at both the campus and district levels.

About Dale
As a performer I have been playing for over fifteen years on the piano. I have received training at Vanguard University where my teacher's were graduates from Juilliard and Yale. I am now attending Arizona State University where I will be teaching music theory and receiving my Doctorate in Music Composition. I am a published choral composer, and have had my music premiered in the U.S. and Europe.

In August of 2012 I began teaching piano on a part-time basis. My teaching philosophy has always been to make sure the students understand why and not just how to perform something. I emphasize music theory along with piano lessons and expect the students to take the time to practice every week. I have taught children of all ages from 4 to 16 years old.

If you would like a female teacher please contact my wife who is also a teacher on

***My Takelessons Blog Posts:***

http://takelessons.com/blog/how-to-have-stage-presence

My name is Larry, and I was born and raised in Chicago and now call the Phoenix, AZ metro area home. I have a Master's Degree in Education (Higher Ed. and Curriculum Development). I have a Tutoring and Educational Consulting business of my own, working with excellent education partners like Takelessons.

My tutoring business is geared towards middle, high school, and college students, and my specialization is geared in four areas:

1) The Humanities: History (U.S., European, and World), English, Literature (with a special passion for all things Shakespeare), and Social Studies (including American Government and Political Science).

2) Papers: Research papers (and how to do the
research for them), essays, creative writing - including citation & formatting.

3) Drama (the Theatre kind of drama, not life drama): Acting, directing, staging, analysis, including Shakespeare.

4) Test Prep: ACT, SAT, PSAT, ISEE, TACHS

***My Promise to You***

I will treat you like an individual - that means that we'll find out how YOU learn best, and we'll work that way. I don't teach memorization. I teach by asking and answering questions, as well as providing information.

***My Expectation of You***

That you will come with an open mind, come with questions, and a willingness to learn and have fun.

***Lesson Details***

*The Humanities*
The reason so many people go screaming into the night when confronted with lessons in things like history, or government, or English for that matter, are all the names and dates to memorize. I don't teach that way. We begin with things you want (or need) to know. From there, we cover how those things affected other things, It's a huge world out there, and how we got here from where we started is a wonderful and complicated trip. History doesn't happen in a vacuum, and we learn who we are by knowing where we come from.

*Papers*
Obviously I won't write your paper for you, but I will show you how and where to start your research (and how to sort it as well). I will also proof-read for grammar and/or organizational errors and show you how to structure it in general terms.

*Drama*
I have acted, I have directed. From the community to professional levels. We will talk about character creation, about staging, about working with your director as well as your fellow actors. We will mostly brainstorm, and you will be able to experiment in vision as well as technique.

David is very knowledgeable in writing and specially resume writing.Me and many other students in school have been advised by him for resume writing. He knows different helpful tools to use for making a very professional resume, like valid references to select the best fit words.
During the process of editing my resume he also taught me different methods to update and edit my resume by myself .He spends as much time as he thinks is required to have an excellent result. Also it was clear that due to his valuable experience he has a very wide horizon which leads to his ability of writing various writing texts.
Beside that, he is very passionate and generous to help others and definitely very active updated in the areas of his work. Truly, His nice character makes it really pleasant for anybody to work with him .

Dave has been very helpful and patient. As a busy mom that I am I had never had the time to learn and master any skill in the kitchen. He has share with me skills that I had been able to implement in my life to facilitate and expedite my time in the kitchen. My family is enjoying the cookies, and cakes and I am able to prepare myself.

I am a former employee of David's and I had expressed interest with updating and making my resume more advanced. He gave me some of the best advice, suggestions, and even referred me to a couple of websites that proved to be very helpful. During the review process, David first pointed out all of the good aspects I had on my original resume. On the parts he thought should be tweaked or edited, he gave advice and pointers in a positive manner. He also took his time really picking apart the resume, making sure he was giving me 100% of the information that he could. With confidence, I can say I am now very proud of my resume and happy with how my strengths really stand out, thanks to the help given from David.

I've been teaching, training and coaching kids and adults for the last 15 years. My teaching experience has been at the elementary level but I have also taught special program classes at the junior high and high school level. My training experience is with kids and adults on computer related apps and hardware. My coaching experience is with kids and young adults in hockey, baseball and soccer.
My teaching style is fun and laid back with a lot of patience. This Spellivision training class you won’t want to miss! It will teach you the step-by-step process for learning the strategy of spelling. It doesn’t matter what age you are…if you’re a good speller you can become a great speller…if you’re a poor speller you can become a good speller! This class translates well both in person and online.

Many years at work applying the principles of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in engineering have given me a deep understanding of these concepts. I have gained the ability to communicate mathematical concepts to students, as shown by the success of my students.

Instead of just giving finished solutions to the student, my approach is to ask increasingly specific questions to help the student focus on the concept and figure out the answer. In this way, the student practices and learns successful methods for solving problems. Showing a student how to compute the height of a tree without having to directly measure it, for example, increases the students' interest and success in math.

I enjoy helping students perform challenging, detailed, and valuable work exceeding their expectations.
