If you just want to learn easy riffs or songs or if you want to become an awesome player/rockstar that can shred, play in bands and stand out as a player, I can get you where you want to be!

About Brandon
I am a Rutgers University graduate with a B.A in Music Performance. I have played guitar for over 10 years, and currently perform all over the tri-state area as a solo acoustic performer and songwriter. I also play in several rock bands. I teach several students ages 5-65 right now, and have taught students how to play guitar for several years. In addition to playing in a rock band, I also am well versed in many music styles including jazz, pop, country and acoustic, songwriting, performance, music theory and recording skills/production.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very flexible teacher and suit my teaching style and format to fit each specific student's interests and needs. My goal is to keep the student interested and make learning guitar a fun experience.

I like to find out the kind of music the student listens to, or what
they want to get out of playing guitar, and then mold my teaching around that. For instance, if a student or parent wants a formal musical education, I will teach how to read music notes and teach them from a book. If the student wants to learn simple songs and be able to play around the campfire for fun, I make sure to guide the student toward doing just that.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Dedicated lesson space. Guitars. Music stands. Music books. Seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my own instruments I would require them to have te instrument they want to learn available and the necessary power source and amp if needed.

*** Specialties ***
Rock country jazz mainly though I know classical music theory as well as counterpoint etc

Hi, I've been studying electric mandolin and guitar with Andrew for some time. He is so kind and enthusiastic, and really understands how to teach me at my level. He has been teaching me the deep theory behind improvisation in bluegrass, newgrass, rock, folk...and has an incredible mind full of music, riffs, scales, and chords from all genres. I've gone back and forth from guitar to mando with him, translating the same information onto the different fretboard, building my knowledge and appreciation of music, and I can now improvise confidently while playing out!

I am truly passionate about your success in becoming the best guitar player you choose to be! I like to teach with repetition (wax on wax off) and prefer to present the big picture first so that every obstacle may potentially never be an obstacle for you. I take years of teaching experience and what have been topics of frustration brought to me from students in the past... I try to smooth the road and teach you so you get the highest yield of success for your money with as little headaches as possible :) for example: I begin with bar chords not folk chords. I would LOVE to have the opportunity to explain "WHY" and show you how great you can be in WAY less time than a traditionalist guitar teacher would get you...

About Greg
Hey there! I am VERY excited to help you get to your best potential through lots of flight hours as quickly as you like! I hope you'll pick me to help you avoid common set backs in your progress. I look forward to helping you be your best on your instrument!

Greg is a cutting edge multi instrumental musician, accomplished on electric bass, upright pizzicato bass, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, and vocals. He performs in a large variety of ensembles, combos, bands, and performs as a solo bassist. He has helped thousands of private students step into a life of music since his first student in 1989. Greg’s talent and ability have been recognized frequently. In 1994 he was one of ten finalists worldwide in Bass Player Magazine’s Billy Sheehan scholarship contest, that same year he became a key volunteer staff member at the annual B
ozeman Bass Bash.

Greg has shared the bill and / or performed along side: Bob Babbitt, Victor Bailey, Jean Baudin, Jeff Berlin, Blondie, Suzy Bogguss, Brian Bromberg, Oteil Burbridge, Yves Carbone, Christopher “C3” Cardone, Anthony Cox, Billy Dickens, Emerson Drive, Sean Feucht, Foghat, Marc Grabowski, Wylie Gustafson, Carol Kaye, Geno Kreis, Rob Kohler, Michael Manring, Stewart Mckinsey, Darren Michaels, Brady Muckelroy, Vince Neil, Adam Nitti, Dave Pomeroy, Psycadelic Furs, Benny Reitveldt, Kelly Roberty, Rich Ross, Billy Sheehan, Russell Smith (of the Amazing Rhythm Aces), Norm Stockton, Randy Tico, Eddie Tsuru, Twisted Sister, Michael Tyrrell, Gerald Veasley, Trip Wamsley, Doug Wimbish And Neil Zaza.

I've been playing guitar for the last 15 years and giving lessons for almost as long! I have a degree in music from the University of Miami and am currently touring out of Nashville. I'd like to think I have a fairly wide range of musical tastes (jazz, country, blues, acoustic, gypsy jazz, rockabilly, rock, etc.) and I enjoy the different challenges that each of my students bring to the table. So whether you're just wanting to strum a few old favorites at home, or if you're on your way to being a Nashville pro like me, I'd be happy to help you along your musical journey!

About Matthew
I picked up the guitar (at my father's encouragement) back in 2003 and never quite turned back! Originally from Kansas City, MO, I first got regular exposure playing in my high school's jazz band and in various other jazz groups, and was lucky enough to study extensively with local guitarists Rod Fleeman and Danny Embrey. I still make occasional trips back to my hometown to perform and record, and played on a couple of records with the KC-based group The Matt Cook Collective in 2016 and 2017.

My next stop was the University of Miami, where I attended the Frost School of Music from 2012-2016 and was fortunate enough to study with John Hart, Brian Russell, and Tim Jago I played with my first Grammy winner (multi-instrumentalist guru Charlie McCoy) and released an EP with Big City Folk Band in 2015. In between school semesters, I performe
d with country and jazz groups in Kansas City and gave lessons at KC Music, a local music store.

In 2017, I relocated to Nashville, began touring with country artist Derryl Perry, and recorded and released my first solo album, Aces. In between tour dates, I've been enjoying the task of expanding both my teaching studio and my guitar resume in this growing city.

I have also taken lessons from Gonzalo Bergara, Dan Wilson, Lorne Lofsky, Charlie Hunter, Jim Campilongo, Randy Vincent, Greg Koch, Guthrie Trapp, Brent Mason, and many more!

Update: will be at the Smoky Mountain Opry in Pigeon Forge TN in 2018!

Lesson Content

The content of the lessons are tailored to the individual depending on their age, interests and goals.
For younger students or beginners who are unsure about their motives for learning their instrument I like to introduce both music notation and tablature right from the get go.
I cover basic songs, correct instrument technique and various genres. Once they have learnt the fundamentals of their instrument and have had a taste of the different ways forward the student normally has a good idea of where they want to go next.
For people who just want to learn how to play their favorite songs and prefer a more casual approach then a typical lesson would involve looking at which songs they are interested in which are within their skill level then downloading the chords/tablature and sitting down and tackling the song together.
For more advanced players lessons may involve in-depth music theory, compositional techniques, improvisation and all the tech-nerd stuff that ...

I have been playing and learning guitar since the age of twelve. While growing up I was involved in my high school jazz big band, jazz combo, orchestra and an originals blues rock band organized outside of school. After high school I completed a twelve month course in contemporary music theory and performance. The following year I worked full time for a music franchise where I taught guitar and bass at five local elementary and middle schools in Auckland. In the next two years I completed an associates degree in audio engineering and music production. In 2015 I was granted a temporary work visa for the USA, I travelled to New Hampshire and taught guitar at an all boys summer cam
p. After the expiry of my visa I returned to New Zealand and started up my own music tuition business where I offered lessons in Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Banjo and Ukelele to anybody aged seven or above. I continued running my music tuition business and teaching guitar at a local middle school until November 2018 when I received a permanent visa for the USA. Having just arrived I plan to continue providing music tuition in my new home, Lexington Ky.
