Piano is the perfect instrument for understanding how music works. Learn to read and play melodies, scales, chords, and put them together into songs as quickly as possible. Techniques for strength and coordination, reading music, and theory.
Lay a solid foundation to develop your musical creativity.

About Aaron
Teaching drums professionally since 1998, Aaron has influenced hundreds of budding musicians to get the most from their instrument. He has studied privately with Rob Laytham (Modern Drummer columnist), Joe Leroux (marching band guru), Gary Chaffe (legendary drummer) and many others throughout the years. He has taken the best techniques and teaching styles from his influences and molded them together to form what he considers to be the most effective and inspiring method available.

I teach drum set in nearly every style and hybrid imaginable, as well as percussion and drum circle facilitation.

Accomplishments include recording 7 albums with various groups, touring with national acts across the west coast, drumming for the Warner Brothers Television house band, and still actively playing live shows and recording.

*** Lesson Deta
ils ***
I put my focus on inspiring students to explore their own creativity with the tools and techniques that I give to them and nurture.
I think it is very important to cover the basic skills that the school districts expect from their music students (sight reading, proper technique, note recognition, rudiments, timing, feel, etc.).
I also feel it is important for a student to find his or her style and an ability to use the fundamentals to create music that they enjoy.
He has written a method book based on the fundamentals of playing a rhythmic instrument with an emphasis on allowing the student to find their niche and lead a group through a piece of music or tastefully support it.

My studios are fully equipped with sound systems, the latest recording gear, acoustic and electric sets, hand drums and dozens of other percussion instruments. I believe that the more resources a person can draw from, be it intellectual or physical, the more fulfilling the learning experience will be.

Each lesson, my students will take at least a page of music that represents the concept that they are focusing on, and a goal set to accomplish by the end of the week so that they can build upon what they already know in an effort to put the big picture together. Ultimately the student will learn when and how to utilize the concepts that they are practicing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
A Yamaha electronic drum set in my Mesa Studio allows me to control volume and dial up any sound imaginable. I have full acoustic drum sets in other studios that I use for recording and private lessons. Often I will integrate guitar, keyboard, or other instruments in to the lessons if needed.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Sticks, Practice Pad, tuning kit, binder and books with teaching supplements.

*** Specialties ***
Music, Drums, Percussion, Theory, Composition, Piano and Guitar.
Drummers should be well versed in all genres of music. Rock, Jazz, Latin, Swing, etc.
Most of my students begin with concert and marching styles on a practice pad, then advance to the drum set.
I teach note recognition and placement, rudiments, linear playing, moeller method, rhythm theory, sub-division of notes and time, and the sight-reading to support these techniques.

For 23 years Ginni has been helping students of all ages to play the piano. Her youngest student was 3 and her oldest (so far) was 72! You really can learn to play at any age! All you need is desire, some time to play and a keyboard or piano.

What students achieve from their lessons depends upon their goals. Some students play to relax at the end of a long day. Others want to play some songs that they love. Students may have always wanted to play piano and have decided that now is the time. Some are developing their gifts while others just think that it's fun!

Good technique is essential in playing the piano. Ginni teaches her piano students how to use their bodies when they play. This helps them to move their fingers across the piano with ease.

Ginni teaches students how to make sense of what is on the page. Whether from a beginning student or an advanced student Ginni answers their questions and guides them ( and if she doesn't know the answer they might look it up together ...

About Ginni
You can learn to play piano or sing at any age! Whatever your musical goals are, Ginni will help you to reach them.

Ginni has been teaching piano and singing for 21 years. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate or advanced she will help you to learn and have fun making music!

Technique is key! As a professional musician Ginni knows the importance of good technique. Great technique gives the performer confidence and the ability to excel.

Ginni's piano and singing students are taught how to use their bodies to perform at their best. Some of the methods that Ginni uses come from her studies at university, personal study and from watching, listening to and performing with world class musicians. From all of this experience, Ginni developed a proven method for teaching piano and singing that helps students progress quickly an
d perform with ease.

Performance anxiety can be overcome. Using the tools that Ginni has developed, students relax, focus and enjoy their performing experience.

Reading music is important for pianists and singers. Ginni helps beginning through advanced students to more fully understand written music and quickly sight read it.

It’s important to perform songs that you enjoy. Students help choose supplemental songs that they love whether that be contemporary pop, traditional classical, Broadway, jazz, country or any other genre that they would like to learn.

Ginni’s piano and singing students increase their range, power, agility, control, confidence and expressiveness through technical exercises, scales, arpeggios, applying technique and lots of encouragement! Students grow the more that they share their talents. Students of Ginni’s are invited to participate in recitals, the Arizona Study Program and are guided through auditions, solo and ensemble performances.

Ginni uses the latest technology to help her students, whether by finding a song online for a student to listen to and learn from, transposing a piece on keyboard, improving the sound of an iphone song by plugging it into a speaker system or by using a mic to learn microphone technique.

A century old stand up piano may not be cutting edge technology but, Ginni’s sounds beautiful and her students enjoy playing it. Music is such a gift. So is participating in and watching the growth and progression of others.

Ginni asks her students to remember three things:
Try, Relax and Have Fun!

My 6 yr old son started taking lessons with Ginni about a month ago. He is a very active boy who has difficulty sitting still and focusing. Ginni is wonderful with him! She is very patient, kind, and understanding of children's specific challenges. She works with him while gently nudging him to stay on task. He actually really likes going to piano lessons and is always excited when 'piano day' rolls around. So hats off to Ginni for her skills in making learning music fun and enjoyable to an active little boy! I always wanted my son to learn an instrument (we are a family of musicians) but what I didn't realize is the process learning piano is helping him with needed skills in school: concentration, focus and discipline. I am very happy I chose Ginni.

At the present time, I am just teaching Beginning Piano. I have been playing piano for over 20 years, but have recently put it on hold to concentrate on mastering my violin skills. I have taught one student in the past for a short period of time. She was doing well but had to quit for financial reasons.

My playing experience includes playing in two piano recitals in San Diego, CA where there were over 50 pianos on a large stage and we played music with partners. That was a lot of fun. I have also accompanied a fashion show which was fun too. I completed four semester of piano at a Jr. College and tested out of piano in a 4-year college, but I mostly play for my enjoyment and relaxation.

About Cathy
I have been teaching students on a regular basis since receiving my Violin Performance Degree in 2008, but have taught several students on and off for over 20 years. I have played in orchestras since Jr. High, including 2 paid symphonies in Louisiana. I am presently playing with a local symphony.

I'm a beginner student with no music experience. She is very patient and enthusiastic. I was able to understand some of the basics of music beats and notes on the first lesson thanks to Cathy. She also thought me the proper position to hold the violin. I'm very excited to continue my four lessons with her and I couldn't choose a better instructor than her. You can see her passion for teaching violin. I highly recommend her, especially for beginner students.

I have been teaching young children for many years and will take beginning piano students as young as 5 years old. While I was a public school music teacher, I used Orff-Shulwerk strategies for teaching music. This approach to music teaching and learning is appropriate for preschool through middle school grades. These strategies are based on the way children learn: sing, chant, clap, dance and keep a beat on anything near at hand. I'm also a certified Joy Tunes iPad piano teacher and with that my students get access to Piano Maestro app for iPad.

About Jill
I have been a professional musician for over 35 years and have taught beginning piano and oboe privately and in group classes. I will make your lessons fun and exciting and teach to your abilities. I also use music apps and games that keep students interested for longer than just sitting at the piano. I believe that all children are inherently musical and the study of music can help a student in all aspects of their life, not just music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
In addition to the standard music stands, metronome, tuners and music, I have digital recording equipment for student's audition recordings. I have helped college bound students get into serious music programs like Arizona State University and the University of Arizona. For students ages 5 to 9 years old, I recommend the recorder as a introductory woodwind before learning t
he oboe.

With a Doctorate in Musical Arts, I've been teaching music to all ages for 12 years. I enjoy helping students explore piano technique, expressive performance, reading music, improvisation, and music theory in a fun and creative format. From the first lesson, students begin reading musical notation and playing fun songs. As they gain mastery of each new concept, extra fun bonus songs are added to their repertoire from their favorite musicians and movie soundtracks. My younger students enjoy many hands-on music games in lessons that help them quickly learn music theory and reading musical notation in a way that keeps them engaged and asking for more! Most of my students don't necessarily want to be professional or classical pianists, but they do want to have fun and learn to play their favorite pop songs, Disney songs, and movie themes on the piano. I introduce students to the JOY of playing music they love, while gaining technique and theory knowledge along the way that empowers them ...

I am excited to offer piano lessons now! Beginner lessons (all ages welcome) will focus on music theory coupled with playing the instrument. It won't just be about pounding out the notes but learning all the different ways to understand the language that is music so that as the student gains proficiency they will be able to enjoy the experience rather than hating the drudgery of note-note-note practicing. I've taught out of the Alfred series - including the Adult All-In-One course, and the Faber series and am comfortable with either.

About Frances
Hullo! I'm Frances and I've been teaching private voice lessons since 2008. In the past my students have been cast in roles in high school and community theater, they have participated in Regional Choir, and auditioned successfully for collegiate music programs.

I received my training at Belmont University, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Classical Vocal Performance. After teaching privately and auditioning for a few years I realized I wanted to return to school so I could be better equipped to teach. I spent two years at ASU refining my own voice while experiencing new teaching techniques. I finished my advanced degree in May, 2016 and now have a Master of Music: Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.

I believe in a relaxed atmosphere for lessons and that if you're not having fun overall then something needs to change. Strengthening
the voice through proper, healthy technique will be challenging but should also be enjoyable.

I am also now offering private piano lessons which I've taught off and on since 2004. My own lessons spanned the four years between eight and twelve and then a year at Belmont University, where I passed piano proficiency as an entering freshman and was able to take privately with a professor trained at Julliard. My theory work from both my undergrad and graduate schooling will allow me to more adequately teach that side of piano performance and I am excited to add piano lessons to what I offer.

She adapted her teaching to work with my strengths and weaknesses and knew exactly what I needed whether I was singing a piece for church or a production that I was in. In addition to adapting her teaching style she also always knew which songs were appropriate for my voice style and which songs I should learn in order to push myself and grow. With over 30 years of teaching experience, I have found ways to help the student learn piano as quickly as possible.

I can arrange songs in all levels for any student to learn. Each student will also learn the best techniques for a great sound on the piano right from the beginning to not sound like a beginner. My goal is to have the student hear the beauty of the piano in what they are playing. I love teaching music theory which also facilitates the learning process when learning to play music.
