Wes F.

Atlanta, GA

I have a solid grasp on the fundamentals of bass guitar, and can help you acquire the ability to play bass for most songs.

About Wes

I studied classical guitar and composition at Asbury College and later more in depth guitar studies rock, jazz, and classical at the Atlanta Institute of Music. I have been teaching steadily for the past ten years as well as spending my time with various other musical projects such as leading worship for my church, performing for various parties and weddings, and composing and recording music for a short film. I use my experience and broad understanding of music to inform the way that I teach, so that my students have a robust experience of all aspects of music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I ha
ve a lesson plan that I follow for beginning students to get them through the basics. As a teacher I am laid back, and positive, but always try to give the student a clear reflection of how they are progressing. I find that some students thrive with a lot of structure and others prefer a looser approach and I am quite comfortable teaching both ways. If the student maintains a consistent practice regimen, they should be able to play songs from the radio within 3 or 4 months.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in the living room with an amp, keyboard, computer, desk, parents can sit on couch in a separate room

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect my student to provide their instrument (including amp if necessary) and any instructional materials required.

*** Specialties ***
I have had a lot of experience teaching beginning and intermediate students with method books, and have used them to teach reading, theory, technique, and repertoire. Most often, I take a slightly looser approach which I feel allows me to mold my teaching to fit the individual student's needs

Wes's enthusiasm for the guitar is contagious. I am thrilled with my son's progress and level of continued interest. Thank you Wes!

Excellent Instructor

Wes is an excellent instructor. He is patient, clear, encouraging, fun, and totally professional. I highly recommend him to anyone (young or old) wanting to learn the guitar.

Wes listens to what the student wants to learn and sets his lessons to help the student achieve their goals. Our lessons are in the instructor's studio, which is a safe, accessible, and clean environment.

I look forward to our future sessions and continuing my guitar learning under his instruction.

David P.

Atlanta, GA

I've been teaching bass for nearly 20 years. As a professional bassist playing 5-8 gigs weekly for about 10 years, I learned a wide range of bass lines and playing styles.
I can help bassists of all levels improve and diversify their playing technique and awareness of all things bass!

About David

I grew up in Birmingham, AL, Boston, MA, and Cleveland, OH, and was classically trained on violin in all three cities. I began studying theory in 7th grade at The Alabama School of Fine Arts.

Upon graduating Emory university in 1992 I played professionally in Destin, FL as a bassist, guitarist, violinist, and vocalist. I am the co-founder of the Destin, FL band "Beach Mice." We perform for several weddings, corporate events, and benefits every year. We are also popular on the festival circuit on the Emerald Coast.

I relocated to Atlanta in November of 2013, and currently perform weddi
ngs, and at various restaurants and farmers markets in the Atlanta area.

I have taught individuals and group lessons on violin, bass, and guitar since 1997 and for several consecutive years at Playground Music in Fort Walton Beach.

I have several videos available on YouTube, and a website which is easily located through a simple Google search.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you fulfill your musical goals and ambitions. Happy Playing - Cheers! dp

Ross H.

Atlanta, GA

I been teaching guitar professionally for 4 years. I stress the importance of learning the WHOLE song and singing and playing at the same time so you can perform it and play with other musicians on different instruments. I also specialize in theory, composition, and improvising. I can write tabs, arrangements, and backing tracks specifically suited to your needs.

About Ross

I live to learn and teach music! Nothing is is "beneath me". I always learn more from beginners than experts- and that is the goal of teaching for me: to learn and enjoy music.

I've been taking piano, guitar, and drum lessons since I was 5. My parents always told me that if I worked as hard on my schoolwork as I did on music, I would make all A's. I went to a Rock and Roll camp in California for three years when I was about 12 where I learned all about playing in a band. Since then I've always been in a band or two or three - totally original indie/rap music, bluegrass, bar bands playing cl
assic rock covers, Bossa nova, and many more.

I have an Associate degree in Audio Technology from SAE, and I studied Jazz guitar at Georgia State University. I have two years of experience teaching guitar, drums, piano, and voice lessons for a local Atlanta company called Courtnay & Rowe. Now I'm going back to school for Music Therapy.

I can't recommend Ross highly enough. He is what every student wants from an instructor: knowledgeable, helpful, patient, nonjudgmental and encouraging. His passion for music and belief in the potential of willing students to play it (if we practice!) is unmistakable, and my own interest in music has grown as a result of our relationship.
