My students come from different walks of life: children coming from school who bound excitedly to my lesson door, teenage artists who have the passion and vision but lack the technique, and adults who seek reprieve from the stress of work by learning an instrument that they've always wanted to play. I enjoy teaching them and watching them master the fundamentals while developing their own performance style (or even composing their own music)! I studied classical voice, piano, and theory privately and at Columbia University with notable musicians and teachers. My acting training includes a conservatory program and Meisner, Linklater (voice), and Shakespeare techniques. I also developed a keen ability to assess and shape talent from years of training, teaching, and performing, and ...

I just started teaching acting, but it I'm very eager to share what I know with beginners and students who perhaps have taken the basic classes and want to learn something more to elevate their skill.
Curriculum to include monologues and memorization technique, audition prep, character studies, study of Shakespearean theatre to modern styles (Pinter, O'Neill, Mamet, Albee, Beckett etc). Also open to study any playwrights or plays student is interested in.
First off, I would like to say that I'm new to teaching. I realized that as many subjects and things that I love, I can share that passion with someone else and further their interest in a subject. I received my Bachelor in Fine Arts from The New School located in Manhattan, NY. I also attended an intensive 2 year program in musical theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy also located in NYC. Subjects at AMDA included musical theatre history, ballet, tap, jazz, theatre dance, acting, acting for film, and voice. I currently don't have any teaching experience, but I'm looking for great students like you to get the ball rolling! I've got a lot of drive in increasing a student's aptitude on a myriad of subjects!
I started teaching Theatre classes in 2011 at Lexington Children's Theatre. While I do not believe you can teach someone how to act, I do believe you can teach someone how to unlock their natural abilities and skills.
My Philosophy is to begin with that you have already at your disposal, your person. I believe to begin to be the best, you must know you, your skills and your natural abilities. Then we build from there.
Hello! Thank you so much for reviewing my profile. I am a 26 year old Professional Actor. I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Valdosta State University in 2011. I immediately worked and internship, at Lexington Children's Theatre, where I began honing my skills as an Actor, a Teacher, a Facilitator and also as a Costume Technician. I have had the opportunity to work with all different age ranges and teach young people all the way up to high school age. I have gotten to understudy for a Tony Nominated Equity Actor. For past three years I have toured across the East Coast and out to the Mid West with Theatres for Young Audiences where we teach through theatre.
