Nicholas M. Monroe, GA

About Nicholas

I am very excited to be a part of the music teaching community because it offers some of the most satisfying and positive results to our students not only in their music ability but their character as a whole. Scott Tennant offers his philosophy of music which I strongly agree with- "Music is the most powerful of all arts. It instantly stirs up emotions, conjures visions, and offers glimpses of other, higher dimensions. It arouses men to battle; kindles amorous passion in lovers; soothes a baby to sleep; comforts us when we grieve. It engages our hearts and our minds, and can bring out the best that we are. One can safely presume that not a single emotion, nor any human or natural event, has been left undocumented by music."

Before I met Mr. Nicholas music seem so distant and uncomprehensible like and alien language. Mr. Nicholas changed that whit his vast knowledge of music and a cool but to the point style of teaching. The classes are stress free and a lot of fun because Mr. Nicholas can play many instruments during the classes so every class is a little different . Mr. Nicholas has exceeded all my expectations as a music teacher.

Alex is extremely patient with my son who is 9 years old. He makes it fun for him and uses music that my son loves. He took his time to ask what type of music he would like and is teaching him based on that. After only three lessons my son is really starting to pick up on basic cords. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone that is interested in learning guitar. My son really enjoys his time with him.
Thomas B. Gainesville, GA

A piano background has taught me how to play and teach guitarists. I have been teaching for 8 years.

About Thomas

Music has been the primary focus since second grade. After completing a Masters in Music Education from Florida State, I have directed High school chorus, and served in the music ministry in a few churches. I have taught piano and guitar to ages 5 through adult for around 8 years. My focus in teaching is to help you make your instrument one in which you can enjoy your entire life. I start where you are, beginner through advance, and assist in making music a passion in your life as it has been for me. I currently serve as Assistant Director of Worship Arts at Gainesville FUMC where I direct multiple groups, play organ and piano in worship, manage youth music and support in the overall worship arts ministry. *** Travel Equipment *** Student needs to provide the instrument.

Lesley D. Covington, GA

I've been teaching music in one form or another for over 20 years and love working with children the most! Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to gain some knowledge on the instrument of your choice and learn to read music. I love working with students of all ages and I can't wait to meet you!

About Lesley

UNOFFICIAL BIO: As long as I can remember, I have played music in one form or the other. I think I started singing before I could actually talk. By the age of 5 I had my first guitar and piano. By then I knew music would be a huge part of my life. It is my favorite language. It is universal. I love to teach those just starting out in music...especially children. Tapping in on a child's natural talent for the first time is an amazing thing to witness. OFFICIAL BIO: Lesley is a singer/songwriter based out of Atlanta, GA. She hit the music scene in the early 80's in Miami, Fl. and signed on with TCA management in the 90's where she toured with the company's other two bands, Marilyn Manson and The Mavericks (yes, what an eclectic combination!) ...

Daniel D. Athens, GA

I am a career guitarist and musician with nine years of experience on the instrument. My primary goal with a new student is to make the process enjoyable and fun. This approach allows beginners to advance as much as possible with basic instruction, saving the less exciting aspects of musicianship to those who have become skilled enough to benefit from advanced techniques and music theory.

This approach allows beginners to advance as much as possible with basic instruction, saving the less exciting aspects of musicianship to those who have become skilled enough to benefit from them. While I am capable of teaching beginner guitar techniques for a wide array of styles, my advanced experience focuses on blues, country, rock, and folk music. I teach flatpicking, slide, and fingerstyle techniques, improvised and constructed lead guitar, and basic through intermediate music theory. I do not provide advanced instruction in classical, jazz, or flamenco styles, or in advanced music theory. I do not use a musical staff
