I am very excited to be a part of the music teaching community because it offers some of the most satisfying and positive results to our students not only in their music ability but their character as a whole. Scott Tennant offers his philosophy of music which I strongly agree with- "Music is the most powerful of all arts. It instantly stirs up emotions, conjures visions, and offers glimpses of other, higher dimensions. It arouses men to battle; kindles amorous passion in lovers; soothes a baby to sleep; comforts us when we grieve. It engages our hearts and our minds, and can bring out the best that we are. One can safely presume that not a single emotion, nor any human or natural event, has been left undocumented by music."
I have 15 years experience playing guitar and drums and love nothing more than to share my knowledge of music with students who are eager to learn. My passion for music developed at an early age and has only grown from there. I have had the privilege of learning from excellent and extremely talented teachers. I enjoy playing at local venues and watching my students joyfully succeed. *** Lesson Details *** Whether you have never picked up an instrument or if you just want to fine tune your musical ability, I will gladly meet you wherever you are in your musical journey. As patience is always an important aspect in learning a new instrument, it is also one of my strengths as I teach students the basics or the advanced techniques with guitar or drums. Hello! My name is Taylor R. I am a composer, performer and teacher. I have a profound passion for teaching and have been teaching private and group lessons for over eight years. I get to know each of my students personally so that I can tailor my teaching methods to meet their specific needs and present them with what they need to know in ways they can easily understand. The concepts and skills I teach my students during our lessons will aid them greatly in their non-musical lives as well; discipline, confidence, focus, etc. I always make sure my students get the information, guidance and resources they need in order to be successful. In 2014 I was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London for composition. I have written for groups and soloists such as The Canadian Brass, ...
Hello, my name is Brooke and I am very excited about the opportunity to teach some clarinet lessons! I have been teaching clarinet since 2007 and have enjoyed helping my students accomplish their goals, such as earning a spot in Georgia's all-state band or simply crossing the break with more ease. I attended the University of Georgia for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in clarinet performance. I try to include fun in my teaching style as often as possible, but I also show a tough side to truly push my students to be their best. I play the soprano clarinet and all of its auxiliaries, so I can help with the bass, alto, E-flat, and contra varieties of the instrument too. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals!
Hey! I'm Kathleen S. I go by Miss (Ms.) Kat. I am currently a Junior at the University of Georgia studying Psychology and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have over three years of experience with tutoring of all kinds, including students with physical disabilities, ADHD, and behavioral issues. My favorite part about teaching is when we have been going over a particularly difficult concept, and the student finally reaches his/ her "aha" moment. In that moment, I know that I have done my job as a teacher well. I look forward to helping towards your own "aha" moment. I am a very prepared tutor, and I expect the same from the students whom I am helping. I am not asking for you to know much of the material, only that you come prepared to learn and be attentive for the ...
I am a career guitarist and musician with nine years of experience on the instrument. My primary goal with a new student is to make the process enjoyable and fun. This approach allows beginners to advance as much as possible with basic instruction, saving the less exciting aspects of musicianship to those who have become skilled enough to benefit from them. While I am capable of teaching beginner guitar techniques for a wide array of styles, my advanced experience focuses on blues, country, rock, and folk music. I teach flatpicking, slide, and fingerstyle techniques, improvised and constructed lead guitar, and basic through intermediate music theory. I do not provide advanced instruction in classical, jazz, or flamenco styles, or in advanced music theory. I do not use a musical staff
