Sarah is very patient with my daughter. She tailors the class to her personality. She gets her to do the class in a fun way. She makes the class enjoyable but still focuses on her growth. She pushes Alexa enough to keep her going. She motivates her to learn. My daughter looks forward to her lessons. Recommend!

Samantha S.

Long Beach, CA

About Samantha

I have been a dance, gymnastics and tumbling/acrobatics coach for over 12 years. I was competitive in both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics soaring into the National level competitive circuit in both. My coaching specialty is floor and tricks, however, I am equally skilled and prepared to teach any other apparatus as well as rhythmic gymnastics. In addition to my experience as a gymnast I also have over 12 years experience in teaching various forms of dance. As a former professional ballet dancer for Southwest Ballet Company in Pittsburgh, PA I have worked with many talented and wonderful
teachers and bring their wisdom, discipline and teaching methods to my coaching style.

I am confident in teaching all ages and skill levels of students and have worked with toddlers through adults. I hold a Certification in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Business. My MBA has helped me to create solid lesson plans and manage and sustain my own teaching business.

I work with each individual students needs to help them achieve what they want to learn, whether it is a specific skill, choreography, strength, or to just improve overall. I can construct a safe, progressive plan to help the student achieve their goal.

My philosophy is simple; to teach students through safe, progressive movements that will build strength, increase flexibility, build confidence and help them to reach their goal with great success.

*** Lesson Details ***
First lesson is typically an evaluation of your skill set, what you want to accomplish and how long it may take to get you there. Each lesson we will focus on your goals as well as focus on improving overall flexibility, strength and technique. It is not enough to just master one specific skill, to get there it takes an overall improvement of your abilities, this will help to make you the best you can be at your chosen discipline.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have access to several studios for dance, or for tumbling. Panel mats can be used for all types of tumbling and acrobatics. Dance floors, mirrors, and stereo systems are available at each studio I utilize for all of your dance needs.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring panel mats with me to your location, and portable stereo equipment.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in ballet, acrobatics, gymnastics, and jazz dance for all ages and skill levels. I work in progressions and look forward to taking your skills to the next level safely and with great technique.

Tanya has a special gift for teaching dance. She really understands all of the elements that go into a properly executed dance move, and more importantly, she really knows how to explain those elements in an approachable manner. I will definitely be purchasing additional lessons with Tanya.

Jaslyn G.

Carson, CA

I have been dancing since I was in high school, so a total of 8 years. There is a lot that can be mastered in 8 years than one thinks. I currently still am a dancer today. I dance for a dance company and have danced for a competitive company called C8 here in Los Angeles. I am a dance major here at Cal State Dominguez Hills who is heavily involved in the dance program. I currently teach kids in middle school. I love teaching Hip Hip, Jazz, Ballet, and locking. Don't be shy, LETS DANCE!!

About Jaslyn

My name is Jaslyn. I am currently still in college I take about 20 plus units a semester. I know its a lot. However, it is and will be worth the time spent. I am a double major student in my third year. I double major in Sociology and Dance. I have received a scholarship in dance to further help me and my expenses for dance. I am involved with a dance company here at my campus and I also perform twice a year in the college concert for the dance program. Sociology is still a work in progress. I take classes to fulfill my major requirements to keep me on track. I also do volunteer work for a stu
dent at my previous high school. I am currently teaching her a solo choreographed by myself. She will be performing this piece in May. For a living, I teach at a Middle school called Walnut Park as a dance instructor. I prepare them for parades, and competitions. I also love to write poetry, skate, do fitness, yoga, flexibility training and just being outdoors.
