Writing music can be one of the hardest things to do, but it can also be the most rewarding. Writing music is my passion. I have developed a curriculum designed to break down the process of writing music through a theoretical, conceptual and creative approach. I believe creativity is something that can be taught. Like any type of music, it is a skill that when practiced the right way, can improve. I can teach composition of any genre of music from singer-songwriter music, to rock/pop to advanced modern jazz. Together we will work to help you write your own songs and unlock the creativity you have in you.

About Pablo

With years of teaching and gigging experience in a wide variety of musical styles, I can teach students whatever they are interested in learning. I believe the most musical improvement occurs when the student is having fun with the process of learning. My lessons are a fun and relaxed environment w

Songwriting is often made out to be difficult, it's not! We will write several songs in your first lesson. The trick to it is finding inspiration and bridging that inspiration with your knowledge of music. Chord progression, melody, literature, the spoken word and studying how other songs are written are some of the things we'd work on. Whether you already play an instrument and want to learn to write songs or would like to integrate songwriting with your current instrumental studies, it is worthwhile regardless and can actually help you better understand your instrument as well as music as a whole.

About Calvin

As a teacher, I have worked with of many ages and backgrounds. One of my students, Skylar Stecker, has gone on to become a successful major label recording artist recently becoming the youngest artist to receive a number 1 on the dance billboard charts. I recently had the opportunity to tour with

There are a million ways to write songs. I'm a librettist for a few composers and can help you find words and ways to feel and hear words. We can work in rhymed and open unrhymed song writing. You can write from your dreams, your rage, your unhappiness, your love and fulfillment, from nature. Idealism, Disappointments. It is all excellent source. We shake it up and keep at it. It's super fun.

Songwriting is my specialty, truthfully. I can help you in your writer's block or chordal dilemmas. I have helped many students of mine write their own songs and iron out all the mistakes young songwriters make.

Eric J is really helping me improve my voice. I’m singing songs I never ever imagined I would be able to sing in such a short time. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge of the voice with us. He doesn’t limit you. He teaches you that you can sing whatever you love if you practice everyday and put the work in. I’ve seen a huge difference in my voice over the few months I’ve been regularly taking his classes.

It is my goal to help students tell their own personal stories by developing creative and deep connections to the songs that they may write and/or sing ! We will focus on lyric writing, interpretation, and can get as detailed into the theoretical aspects of composing as the student may like. Songwriting gives me a sense of purpose, expression, and safety- I hope to help students cultivate what their specific voice is and what songwriting means to them. There is no one way to write or compose !

About Crystal Rose

It's a joy to get to help students grow towards their full potential and deepen their love of music. Teachers in my life have been especially important in my development into the musician and person I am today. It's important to me to teach to help other inspiring musicians develop as well. I lo

With her patient understanding and calm presence, Crystal Rose is a very engaging and positive music teacher. What originally started out as guitar lessons has grown into a deeper exploration of music through voice lessons and songwriting. I fully credit this expansion of both my guitar playing technique and my musical creativity to her skills as a teacher. After each lesson I feel inspired and excited to keep practicing what I have learned as it carries me over into my week. I am so happy to have found her and highly recommend Crystal Rose as a music teacher.

"When I first took lessons with Triana, I thought I was a pretty good song writer. Looking back I can see how much I have improved. I always felt like my songs could be better, but I didn't know how I could get them to the place I wanted. Triana has an uncanny ability to hear the best version of your song and guide you towards it. I never felt like she was writing for me, but helping me hear the places in my own song that needed work. I feel like my songs are so much stronger now and, more importantly, I can see the places in my own song that need work and can make them better on my own!"

"Lessons with Jeff are awesome! The songs I write now have a much more interesting sound, rhythm, and structure than they did before AND I’m able to come up with killer harmonies, a skill that was always lacking for me. His methods are easy to grasp and when they do challenge me, he breaks things down and sets a pace that works for me so I don’t get overwhelmed. I always take something valuable and new away from our lessons."
