Cant say enough good things about Joel. He doesnt get frustrated when I don't grasp a concept he breaks it down to where I can understand and work through it. Works to play what I'm interested and what I really want to play. I thought going to learn an instrument at 27 would be rough but it has been fun and enjoyable.

Joel is an amazing instructor. I have had music instructors that get frustrated and roll their eyes or scoff. Not once have I gotten that from Joel. He breaks it down to where it is completely understandable and willing to work at your speed. I especially like that he isn't hung up on boring songs he pushes for what the student is interested in. Makes learning so much more fun. I thought trying to learn an instrument at 27 would make me feel dumb but Joel doesnt create that kind of environment. Only good vibes. Cant say enough good things about Joel.

We are so glad that Joel is our 12 year olds Ukulele instructor. Joel is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled musician. He is especially gifted in putting students at ease and guiding them in pursuing their individual music styles. After only a short number of lesson with Joel, our shy girl is playing and singing her favorite popular songs !!

Any genre, any song, all ages, all levels. Teaching for 20 years. I tailor each lesson to the needs/goals of every student.

For beginners, I can have you playing the chords to your favorite songs in the first lesson to accompany your voice or someone else's!

For more advanced players, I can help you make the perfect accompaniment to suit the song on piano, guitar, accordion or ukulele using a chord charts.

For piano accompanists, I can show you tricks on how to sight read like a pro, while quickly analyzing music on the fly to play the most important notes.

Building a positive learning environment is at the very core of my teaching philosophy. The lesson and the practice room are the times to make mistakes and learn how to reach your fullest potential! I offer well-rounded lessons, focusing on basic music theory, technique, expressive playing, and developing an understanding of why we make the mistakes we do while practicing. My lessons will can cover everything from the very basics to orchestral excerpts/audition preparation. Let’s get started! I can’t wait to learn with you!

Emily is a patient, thoughtful, considerate, and empathetic teacher.

I enjoyed our time together, practicing and learning a difficult and abstract instrument/subject was fun and engaging.

Highly recommend Emily to anyone willing to learn the flute! Thanks for everything Emily!

Emily is quite possibly the best teacher I've had. She is generous with her time while teaching. Emily is also very patient when working with me on difficult passages of music. She is creative at problem solving issues with my playing and has been very helpful in getting my playing to the next level. Anyone who wants to learn the flute, whether it's to improve their classical playing, or because they were inspired to learn because of the recent popularity of Lizzo, they should contact Emily for all flute needs!

For about five years now, I have been actually completing playable music. The past couple years, my school's jazz combo has even taken a couple of my songs to compete with at different jazz festivals. I have studied under the fantastic composer, guitarist, and teacher, Tom Hynes the past couple years. Prior to my studies, I was self taught, as a way of expanding my improvisation. I write primarily for Chamber ensembles, Jazz small ensembles, and even some pop music.

I use Handwritten, Finale and Logic pro for notation, so whichever is most convenient, I'll use. In lessons, I will ask students to bring in material they have written each week, which we will review together. I'll add some suggestions, but will not change the integrity of the music, just refine it. We shall look at composing in different styles, as well as expanding upon the styles in which the student is most interesting in pursuing.

I'm 50 years old and I have never taken lessons before and was very nervous. But Luis put me at ease and gave me confidence. I also learned a ton. "My daughter adores Elisabetta, and with good reason. Elisabetta is an expert in the fine art of balancing warmth and gentleness with rigorous instruction and an insistence on the importance of technique.

My daughter has been playing piano for several years, and she wants to be treated as a mature tween, not a small child who must be praised for simply getting through a piece. On the other hand, she can also be hypersensitive and react badly to criticism; she will think someone is angry with her on the slightest provocation. In other words, she is a very tough customer! But somehow, miraculously, Elisabetta gets it perfectly right, and my daughter feels respected and encouraged.

I am extremely grateful to have found such a gracious and skilled instructor, and I'm very pleased with the progress my daughter is making."
