Cant say enough good things about Joel. He doesnt get frustrated when I don't grasp a concept he breaks it down to where I can understand and work through it. Works to play what I'm interested and what I really want to play. I thought going to learn an instrument at 27 would be rough but it has been fun and enjoyable.

I have been playing guitar for 20 years, specializing in acoustic, rhythm-based guitar (pop, folk, rock). In addition to finger technique and strum patterns, I teach various note-reading methods including tablature, solfege, chords, and numbered progressions. As a singer/songwriter, my knowledge of guitar first grew out of a curiosity for songwriting. However, when I started teaching children how to play guitar 10 years ago, it became clear to me that the instrument itself yields infinite possibilities. Let's start your journey to learning the guitar together!

My teaching approach is eclectic, drawing from a wide variety of methods and repertoire to fit the individual goals of each student. Students 5 to 95 are welcome in my studio and have made progress reaching their goals, be it studying cello at the college level, auditioning for All-State, or simply playing for fun.

A typical lesson involves scale and technique study, etudes or orchestra class pieces, and selections from the standard (and not so standard!) cello repertoire.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

I am a beginner that was stuck with not knowing what to do with the knowledge I had from online sources, ie chords, scales and phrasing. Everything I did sounded the same because of my strumming patterns were all the same. Aimee got right to work in just the right area to help me hear new sounds by different strumming patterns. I am very pleased with Aimee's teaching style and environment. Looking forward to second lesson.

"I started taking guitar lessons for the first time 10 months ago and am thankful I found such a great teacher in Ahmad. His positive attitude and love of music helps me stay engaged and lessons are productive and fun.

One of the great things about Ahmad is he listens to you and adjusts lesson content based on the feedback you provide. His ability to listen allows Ahmad to deliver a personalized lesson plan that incorporates your goals and gets you excited about what you are working on.

Ahmad also has taught me techniques to prevent and address minor aches that come up while learning to play. He takes this seriously and shows you how to prevent and resolve any issues that come up.

Overall, taking lessons from Ahmad has been a very positive experience. I look forward to continuing working with him to get better."
