"Experienced violin teacher of 29 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical violin skills. I specialize in Suzuki , and fiddle Celtic music etc...,
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis. I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham. I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system. Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc.... The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

Ms.Krisztina is a joy to work with. My girls started with her at 5 & 6 and she worked so well with them. She has kept their interest since and has introduced new concepts in a way that isn’t overwhelming, but enjoyable and fun. She has a lot of patience with them and has a skill for drawing their attention to the violin & music.

Violin or viola, Krisztina was a very caring and nicest teacher I have ever had. Unlike myself she was always on time. Her friendliness made every lesson more fun while she really cared about her students and always been honest with her comments.

I would highly recommend Krisztina. She truly likes teaching violin. She goes beyond the call of duty. For example, she sends emails with her or other musician videos for practice at home, works over the allotted time if needed and if she is able to, sends texts and responds promptly.
My daughter was beginning to say she was getting less interested in violin and before I could say anything, Krisztina made my daughter excited about it again with new things to learn.
There is nothing negative to say. She is an excellent teacher.

Learning an instrument is no easy feat, but having the right plan, structure, and support makes all the difference. My teaching philosophy is designed to meet each student where they are, with a custom approach tailored to their individual needs.
I take time to get to know my students - how they practice, why they pursue their instrument, what their goals are, and who they really are as people. What is it that they truly need right now? Is it a practice schedule, or just some gentle encouragement? A new song to freshen things up, or a tough lesson about persistence? A conversation about homework, or a story to lighten the mood and bring some laughter into the music? As an experienced teacher, I know how big of a difference it makes to really understand the needs of a student.
I work with beginner, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages. I have experience with all major string curricula, as well as my own conservatory-trained approach. I have taught over 100 students in ...
I take time to get to know my students, and I meet them where they are.
I offer individual lessons for regional Greek violin technique. The lessons are geared for intermediate to advanced violin students, but experience with Greek music is not required.
Violin is the primary melodic instrument of Greek music, so there are many different regional styles and techniques. The objective of these lessons is to learn basic violin techniques from distinct regions across Greece. The lessons focus on rhythm/bowing and ornamentation, which are taught through traditional tunes, and include a basic introduction to maqam and moria.
Authentic, tasteful, and experienced, Aya Safiya is an accomplished violinist who has performed at renowned venues such as the Great American Music Hall, as well as festivals in the US and in Greece. Aya began studying both Suzuki classical and traditional Greek violin when she was 7. She has made numerous trips to Greece to study with master violinists such as Nicos Chatzopoulos and Nikos Oikonomidhis. At age 15 She started teaching individual lessons and group workshops at world music camps in California, and in more recent years crafted her "regional Greek violin technique" workshop which she conducted at the Freight & Salvage Coffee House in Berkeley in 2017. She continues to hold occasional workshops and regularly teaches private lessons.
"Peter has exceeded my expectations, I look forward for my lesson every week. I honestly can say He is the best teacher I’ve ever had. I am a 44 yo violin
beginner student who has had 5 teachers in the last 6 years, I didn’t learn much with them, this been said, with Peter in just 3 months I feel I have learned more than my other teachers. Peter is so, so patient and extremely professional. I am very pleased to have found such a wonderful teacher."
"My son is enjoying his lessons. He was very excited after the first lesson. He is very glad to have this opportunity to learn the violin."
"Mrs. Beckley has taught my daughter how to play the violin for several months learning notes, chords, and beginners' techniques. She is always patient as
she directs my daughter's lessons. Every week she gives assignments to be practiced before the next lesson. Mrs. Beckley always says, "You are welcome to suggest music that you would like to learn instead of the assigned music piece that I assign for practice."
She said that if we have trouble finding sheet music, she will write it out for my daughter to learn. Mrs. Beckley is a very skilled instructor, and my daughter agrees that she gives great direction with skilled consistency."
"Mrs. Kendra was very sweet and patient with my 4 year old daughter. I can see that Mrs. Kendra has a lot of teaching experience and a very welcoming perso
nality. We are looking forward to more lessons :)"
"Great teacher of the violin! Always patient and supportive. Not going to make you feel bad if you mess up, but still encourages to push yourself further."
"Alyssa was very thorough and met my objectives."
"Ms Regina is very professional, kind, patient and willing to meet any student at the level they need to begin. I found her to be the kind of personality
that will work well with my "ocd' and nervous beginnings."
"We had a wonderful experience for our 1st visit. We really look forward to weekly lessons with Jerry. We feel comfortable with him, he's very detailed in
explaining/teaching. And we didn't know how to tune the Violin but Jerry tuned it for us over and over again. 😀"
"We feel so lucky to have Ferenc available to teach our 8 year old! He's an immensely talented musician and is able to translate his knowledge and enthusi
asm into terms a child appreciates and absorbs. He is very encouraging and positive and such a joy to have in our child's life."
Many young students interested in learning to play a music instrument are drawn to the beautiful sound and expressiveness of the violin. The first question they will ask is often, is it hard to play violin? Learning to play any musical instrument can present challenges to the beginning student.
However, much of the difficulty in learning any instrument rests with the student’s attitude. If something is perceived as hard, it can be easy to get frustrated at the first sign of trouble and simp …
