Each lesson will be taught in response to current needs of a student but the following are the parts that make up an entire lesson:
- Technique
- Theory
- Music
- Practice
All together are basic fundamentals.

My job as a teacher is to help you find a place for music in your daily life and to make a practice time more of an experimental discovery play, than boring work. Once you find a key, it opens up a whole new world of communication.

As a private violin instructor, I believe that education is impossible without student’s motivation and passion. Perhaps you have decided to become a professional musician or maybe you want to play for your own enjoyment... Whatever your goals are, I can lead you there! Let's make it happen together because it is never late to follow a dream!

I recommend younger children travel to me for the best learning experience.

About Zhana

I have been a freelance violinist and a professional violin teacher for the past 30 years. Playing in the orchestra and teaching students are two of my greatest passions in life. As a private violin instructor, I firmly believe that education is impossible without student motivation and passion. A

Zhana has been a great teacher so far. I just finished week 3 and I can play twinkle, twinkle little star. She is really patience.

Zhana is such a kind, thoughtful, and patient instructor! Our lessons give me the perfect balance of structure and fundamentals, along with playfulness and exploration. She is able to make the connection between the technical aspects of the basics and the musicality of a piece. Zhana regularly plays with me during our lessons, which has really helped me hear my intonation and what correction is needed. She is very understanding of the fact that I am an adult learner and do not always have the opportunity to practice as much as I like, but at the same time she is constantly encouraging me to learn more and improve my technical abilities. I would highly, highly recommend Zhana as a teacher for anyone looking for a new teacher!

In my one hour of comprehensive teaching, students learn extensively the techniques of the violin, including tone production, vibrato, musicality and pieces of music which are chosen from standard violin literature or Suzuki books. The whole idea is to get students to look at the whole learning process as a fun activity, and very soon they acquire the ability to produce beautiful sounds, correct intonation and strong vibrato. In addition to the above, I conduct some some ear-training exercises to improve intonation as well.

He is very patient and has excellent communication skills. I have no knowledge of how to play the violin or music of any kind. After my first lesson I strongly feel he will be my private instructor for many years to come. I left with proper technique of how this instrument is to be cared for and good posture when practicing. He also informed me of the books we will be incorporating into my lessons. Most importantly homework is given and he is very patient and explains everything at your level.

I was very pleased with my first lesson with Nader. He is very kind and patient. We covered some basic points with what we'll be covering for my lessons with the cello. His instructions and explanations of technique is very clear I feel my lessons with him will be very beneficial and enjoyable.
Sean K.
Mr. Nader is an excellent instructor who always puts his students first. He customizes his lessons in accordance to each individual and patiently works with them so that they may achieve their optimum potential.

More than just a passive teacher of the violin, Mr. Nader dedicates his time and energy as a full time instructor of violin, cello, and music theory. Furthermore, Mr. Nader exhibits a level of knowledge, intellect, understanding, and culture rarely seen in the world today. When one walks into his music room, one will be struck with awe at not only the amount of books in Mr. Nader's library collection, but also the wide variety of subjects ranging from Music, Music History, Biographies, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, and many more. However, do not think that these books are just for display. Quite the contrary, one short conversation with Mr. Nader will show that he is well versed in all these subjects; a modern incarnation of the Renaissance polymath. Building off of his broad knowledge base, Mr. Nader not only teaches one how to play an instrument, he also teaches one how to cultivate oneself in Music and the culture from which it originates.

With a passion for Music and a yearn to pass on higher culture to the avid learner, Mr. Nader is the best instructor for all those who wish to learn Music along with its connection to the history, society, and culture from which it springs.

I love teaching the violin! In my five years of teaching, I have taught all ages and all levels of experience. No matter what type of music you are trying to learn, it is important that you have a solid technical foundation in order to play whatever music speaks to your heart. In addition to teaching you the mechanics of violin playing, it is also important to me that you understand the "why"- why certain techniques work better than others.

Two years ago, I injured left arm and thought that I wouldn't be able to play the violin ever again. I basically had to re-teach myself the violin, and not take anything in my playing for granted. This radically changed not only my physical approach to playing the violin but also my mental approach. A mistake made while playing is not the end of the world, but is in fact an opportunity to learn and become even better.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student understand a concept that they've been struggling with, or play something that

I have been teaching the violin/fiddle to children and adults for 9 years. My speciality is in teaching young children and youth. I do teach methods that are appropriate to their level, whether they are beginners or have been playing for a while. I love teaching adult beginners as well, we all need a good start with a firm technique base for left and right areas (violin and bow) of playing the violin. I teach from the concept of Musicianship: warm ups to prevent injury, correct techniques for playing, and using theory books and violin method books that are creative and easy to follow and understand, both for children and adults. I teach note-reading as well as aural learning because a student, young or older, needs both music notation and ear training to gain the best possible perspective on learning this instrument and having fun. As a teacher, I love being creative in lessons, it's very important and helps the student to assimilate the techniques and pieces so they can move ...

Diane is an amazing teacher!! My two daughters (8 and 12yrs old) have been taking lessons from Diane for over 2 years and they love her lessons! Diane is very kind-hearted, very positive, and patient. They have a great violin rental and purchasing program with a very reasonable price and her husband as a professional luthier, setting up all the instruments for us and whenever the kids need to switch a violin size, they take care of it. We are very happy with Diane and it's hard to find a teacher like her.
Nancy
Was my first violin lesson today, and Diane is very thorough and easy to follow. She is excited about the violin and not just a teacher so I already know that I have a great teacher. I am so excited about my journey with her!
Amber A.
Diane is a fabulous teacher!! When my daughter wanted to start violin and fiddle I knew I would need to know something about violin to help her at home. So, Diane taught my 5 year old and me. Diane really has an amazing bond with my daughter and has truly become one of our family... She makes the lessons fun and engaging for my daughter... She takes a personal interest in her students and gears the lessons to their level. Diane is always willing to work with you when it comes to schedules as well, for example: summer time vacations.... I highly recommend Diane as an instructor. She knows her instrument, her theory, and how to convey the information to adults and small children. We have now been taking lessons for a couple of years and my daughter still looks forward to them and that is due to the investment that Diane has personally made in their relationship!

"Out of all of my teachers that I've had over the years, Jill has given me the most thorough lessons I've ever had. Most of my teachers have focused heavily on repertoire, and ignored the basics of scales and etudes. As a result, I always found them tedious, but Jill breaks everything down into smaller pieces so I don't get bored or overwhelmed. She always comes up with new ways of working on old techniques that help me overcome old, deep-seated habits and difficulties."

Violin Tips: Stiff Shoulders and Arm Pain

Playing the violin should be fun - not a pain! Some arm fatigue is normal when you're first starting out, but anything more than that may be a sign of poor posture, technique or instrument placement. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you practice and play... 1. Relax. Many beginner players tense up their shoulders, arms or wrist without even realizing it, which can cause a lot of problems. Just relax! Focus on your breathing, but also don't lose your posture. 2. Check your techni …
