Trumpet is a wonderful instrument for both the young and young-at-heart. I have been playing trumpet for most of my life, and teaching it for 14 years.
I am a 2008 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. While at North Texas I taught trumpet lessons in the Denton area. I have also taught piano, clarinet, and saxophone as well as all the other brass instruments. I have performed with the UNT Concert Band, the UNT Brass Band, the UNT Nine O'Clock Lab Band, the Collin County Jazz Band, and the San Jose Metropolitan Band.
Currently, I teach clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and piano in the DFW area. I also play trumpet in the both the Frisco Community Band and the Frisco Community Brass Ensemble.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a laid back teacher who gets you playing from the first day.
*** Studio Equipment *** All students are required to purchase the Musician's Practice Planner, which you can find at any music store. You will also need to g
et any books that we play through (but I'll give you time to get them, so don't worry.) Any books that we use will be easy to find and won't cost a whole lot of money.
*** Travel Equipment *** I will always bring my instrument with me when I attend a lesson, so I expect my students to do the same when they come to my studio. Also, make sure you have any books and music that we will be playing out of. I always have a copy of anything that we are playing, so I expect the student to have a copy as well.
*** Specialties *** Trumpet Clarinet Alto Saxophone Piano
After playing French horn for 3 years, I decided to try to play Trumpet. It ended up being very natural to me and so I performed on both Trumpet and French horn in High school. I played the French horn for our Orchestra and Wind ensemble and Trumpet for our Jazz ensemble. I fell into a position when I was 15 to be a brass coach of a Montessori school and taught mostly Trumpet for the 3 years that I was there. Today, I play the Trumpet for fun!
Hi! My name is Beckie and I have played music for all of my life. I play and teach many different instruments such as the French horn, trumpet, piano, saxophone, mandolin, guitar, and voice.
I have my Masters in Music on French horn as well as two bachelor degrees in music performance on French horn and music education.
My first job was as at a Montessori Academy elementary school, where I was the brass coach for 3 years. This is where I fell in love with teaching. I have been teaching privately for 16 years now and love the one-on-one attention that I can give the students.
I have worked with many great organizations like the Los Angeles Philharmonic and various music studios/orchestras around Los Angeles.
I currently am a freelance musician, Elementary school music teacher, brass coach for two local high schools and a p
rivate music teacher! I perform with orchestras and groups all around the Los Angeles area. I have performed in such wonderful venues as the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Sydney Opera house, in which I was able to premier a piece!
I look forward to working with you or your child in helping to start or continue a musical instrument!
*** Lesson Details *** When I teach lessons, I like to check in with the student to see how their day was and how practicing throughout the week went. I am very patient and will teach at the student's pace. I expect the student to practice during the week, even if for just 10 minutes a day. I will always work with a student as long as it takes to have them understand what is difficult for them musically.
For music, I like to use books. When we choose a book to play out of, I like to choose a book together so that the parent and the child are happy about the selection. Books vary based on what the needs are for each student. Books are to be purchased by the parent.
I usually play my instruments with the students, but being a freelance musician, I may need to save my chops for an upcoming gig. Not always, but happens from time to time :)
I also have a 24-hour cancellation/lesson change policy. If you are late for your lesson, I will try to accommodate the time but may have students or rehearsals afterward so it will not always be a guarantee. If you are going to be late, please text me BEFORE the scheduled lesson and make sure I confirm that I received your message. Lessons are to be every week as I DO NOT teach bi-weekly lessons.
*** Studio Equipment *** Lesson space is in my home w/ seating for parents and music stand for students. I also have a cat and a dog, so if you are allergic, please let me know! The dog and the cat are put away for the lessons as to not distract either one of us! They are pretty cute, though!
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to provide music books and their own instruments and music stand.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in classical genres of playing but I am able to teach all different styles of music.
Outstanding instructor! Beckie is very positive and encouraging and my son has learned so much in just a few weeks. My son looks forward to his session each week. She is also an amazing musician herself and plays her instrument side by side with my son which allows him to hear and learn the individual notes.
As a part of my music education certification, I am trained to teach beginner levels in all brass instruments.

*** Lesson Details *** My lessons are geared towards a set of goals that are created between the student's wants and my expectations for them to be successful at what the student wants to achieve. For each student, I use a different set of pedagogical tools designed to get them to the goals they want. The main goal I have for all my students is that their fundamentals on their instrument will be at the level that they can complete their goals with ease. Over their time with me, they will have the skills to coach themselves when they practice and tackle any music they come across.
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect them to provide and music stand and their music. These are both things that they need to have at their home for practice.
*** Specialties *** I teach and perform both jazz and classical music. Almost any style that uses a trombone or brass instruments, I have performed in and have a strong foundation in.
Very patient and methodical in his approach for our beginner

I am former music major and long time amateur trombonist and was looking for someone to help bring my playing (back) up to the next level. Bill has been amazing at being able to spot areas for improvement and clearly provide several suggestions and approaches to correct them. Very pleased and highly recommend!
May 23, 2017
Bill is a stand-up guy. My 11-yr-old beginner daughter is happy with her lessons so far and he interacts with me in a friendly and polite manner. He is respectful of our time and does what he says he's going to do. Can't ask for much more. We are looking forward to a summer of trombone lessons with him.
I've been teaching trumpet for 20 years and my students have gone on to the State level Band Auditions and won multiple times. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to make a decent sound, play scales, arpeggios and simple tunes, and as time goes on you'll be able to play popular tunes solo and with accompaniment of piano or band. I specialize in classical, jazz and klezmer style, typically use best published books, and have the renovated, quiet and spacious studio, music stands, audio equipment. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

For the past twenty years, Dimitry has been teaching students of all ages to play the clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and recorder.
Students will learn proper techniques, posture, breathing, phrasing, articulation, tone, rhythm, sight reading, solfeggio, music theory, and music history. They will also learn to play solos (with and without accompaniment), as well as duets (along with the instructor).
Private lessons are customized to meet each student's goals, such as preparation for regional and state band auditions, concerts, and other music competitions.
Meet the Business Owner
Business Owner Dimitry Chernavsky is the Principal Clarinetist of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra, the Co-Principal of the Hanover Wind Symphony, and a member of the 'A La Mode' clarinet quartet.
Dimitry is a graduate of Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Music Performance and Education.
Our 12-year old son has been learning clarinet from Mr. Dimitry for about a year now and we highly recommend him to prospective students for his deep music knowledge, rich clarinet performance experience and above all, just being a great clarinet teacher.
In a year's time with Mr. Dimitry, our son's progress has been very impressive. After our son started lessons with Mr. Dimitry, it quickly became apparent that Mr. Dimitry is a very experienced teacher for young musicians. He engages our son effectively to keep him interested in music and clarinet while at the same time sets high expectations for him. Our son always looks forward to clarinet lessons and also is motivated to practice pieces at home.
Mr. Dimitry not only teaches sound clarinet skills, but also emphasizes the importance of playing music the right way, that is to tell stories and express feelings through music rather than to play music like a technician. Although it is difficult for a young musician to fully appreciate this concept, it does go a long way in preparing him to become a really good musician in the long run.
Mr. Dimitry is very polite, pleasant and professional. We recommend him without any reservation.

My 7 year old son has been taking recorder lessons from Dimitry for almost 1 year now. Dimitry is very patient, encouraging, and enganging - considering that my son is on the younger side. Dimitry provides music instruction that is appropriate age and level wise, so my son feels accomplished and challenged at the same time.
We plan to continue with Dimitry and hopefully advance to the clarinet once his fingers can cover the clarinet holes and he has learned more music theory. My son looks forward to his music lessons. We are very pleased with his musical instruction.

Incredibly amiable, professional, and talented as a teacher.
As a senior in high school now graduating and transferring into college, I started my lessons with Dimitry in December last year and had to end this summer at the end of the music school's program. Even though my time learning the saxophone was short, Dimitry used my past musical experience to help guide me through the instrument. His lessons did not feel long in any sense of the word, and in fact some two-hour lessons I took to make up missed weeks blew by, as I was constantly engaged by his teachings. During my studies with him I found myself in the presence of a true musician, and this was only further driven home when I saw him play in the Hanover Wind Symphony at the Morristown Community Theater with Stanley Drucker. I would highly recommend Dimitry as an instructor for a student at any level.
I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. My band performs regularly in Opera houses as well as coffee houses... Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to the advanced level. This is pretty much standard practice within the brass family :)
I am a trombonist and teacher, with many years of experience teaching Hebrew as well as music.
As a music teacher I have worked with children starting from private lessons to young children beginning to learn, up to master classes in universities worldwide. I love teaching, and I feel confident teaching trombone and trumpet up to advanced level. For piano, I would prefer to stay with beginners and young ones only :) - but I promise you they will have a wonderful experience (and yes, I do have 8 years of piano studies under my belt).
As a Hebrew teacher, I teach both Hebrew reading and pronunciation and modern conversational Hebrew. My professional experience includes teaching at Golda Och Academy in West Orange, B'nai Abraham in Livingston, Central Synagogue in Manhattan and more, as well as many private lessons. In
the schools I provided classroom instruction, private and group tutoring and adult education as well as private instruction for the faculty.
The student will be instructed on the basics of proper playing techniques, music theory, and musicianship. They will learn to read music and also play by ear which will make them a well rounded player.
About Luther A.
Luther unique talents as educator, instrumentalist, conductor, vocal coach, cinematographer, composer and arranger make him a sought-after teacher. Currently, Luther is working with the Bridgeport Board of Education at Roosevelt Elementary School for President Obama's Arts and Humanities Turn-Around Arts Initiative he is the Executive Director and Program Director of Blackwell's School of Music and Film and Minister of Music Director for New Hope Missionary Baptist Youth Singers.
Luther stays where I’m at and then helps me go the next step. That is useful for consistent gradual progress without the frustrations of moving either too slow or too fast (I am a beginning tenor saxophone player). Nice interpersonal style, patient and easy going, while methodical.

I think Luther is great. He works with my 10-year old son on piano, singing and even trumpet and violin as needed. My son has to work hard to progress, and Luther customizes the lesson plan for him and seems to understand him well. I'm really excited about them working together.
I am a professional orchestral trombonist and I have been an active brass teacher for almost twenty years. I have played in orchestras across the USA and Europe, including the Cincinnati Symphony, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and many more.
I aim to give my students a solid understanding of the technical skills required to play a brass instrument, and to share with them the musical knowledge I have gained from studying with some of the best brass teachers in the world.
I'm an experienced brass teacher with almost twenty years teaching and performing experience. I perform frequently with orchestras such as the Cincinnati Symphony, Columbus Symphony, the Charleston Symphony and I am a member of both the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and Des Moines Metro Opera.
I'm currently accepting students in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as well as online lessons. Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions about lesson content, my teaching approach or anything else. Thanks!
What makes my trumpet lessons unique is that I approach the instrument in a very pedagocial and simple approach. The basis of sound and ease of playing is always a top priority for myself and my students. I strive to make playing the trumpet fun and challenging and strive to make the best music I possibly can with my students as I know they are also striving to become a better musician and person.
Hello! I'm currently a Masters Student studying Trumpet Performance at Michigan State University where I am studying with Justin Emerich. I have participated in several different ensembles through my studies and have played in and around the metro Atlanta area. I enjoy playing the trumpet as its been able to help me improve as a person and I have learned how to communicate musically with people in ways to which I never knew could be done before. Lessons with me will not only help one's development on the Trumpet but also in musicianship through hands-on experiences musically and realistically.
"Matt is friendly and polite per my 13 year old son. He had a great first lesson."
"My 1st Trumpet lesson with Katie went well. I need the actual exercise music that we worked on ?? Also, I was wondering if we could do a lesson somewhe
re out in the open. Like a hall, church, or bigger room, maybe my apartment ??
Thanks a lot Katie for your expertise, it is much appreciated. Sincerely...... Ron Hooper"
"He's a great teacher! Patient, organized, articulate and inspiring. I like how his lessons are put together and the music we are working on."
"Gary has been great. My son really enjoys playing the trumpet and looks forward to his lessons with Gary. That is a very different experience from my mu
sic lessons as a kid. Gary is a true musician with a thorough understanding of many music styles. He's very patient and has a great temperament for working with kids. My wife and I aren't musically inclined and really needed the help getting our son on his way musically. He's now the best in his school band, and again, he really loves it and enjoys his lessons with Gary."
"Excellent instructor and great person! Very welcoming, friendly, yet challenging. He knows his stuff and has clear command over the Trumpet literature (i.
e. Arban's, Clarke's method)."
"John really enjoyed the session today because Jesse accompanied on guitar while he played his favourite music. At 10-years old, it's so important to not j
ust be drilled on the fundamentals but have moments like today when he can just learn through play. Thanks Jesse for picking up on this!"
"Outstanding instructor! Beckie is very positive and encouraging and my son has learned so much in just a few weeks. My son looks forward to his session
each week. She is also an amazing musician herself and plays her instrument side by side with my son which allows him to hear and learn the individual notes."
"Pasquale is a passionate trumpet player, and is an equally passionate teacher. He thrives on the success of his students. Throwing aside a cookie cutter a
pproach, Pasquale tailors his lessons to the individual needs of the student. He challenges you to exceed your comfort level. By far superior to the rest !"
"Rebecca is very talented and patient with my 8-year old son. I'm very satisfied with our lessons."
